haha ~~ i waiting for my piping to be done by my friend ~~ wanted to have run 1 return pump and the pipe have 3 outer to chiller and etc etc ~ lol ~
Best not place at corner....hard for maintaince and near window got sunlight

Yes agree, have it in the best corner with the least natural light hitting. Or oyama the sides.
Also, try to have 2 returns.
If I ever have another tank, 2 returns , and 2 chillers with the 2nd one ready to cool 0.5 degree above the first one to cover for failure.

Due to my neglection on the tank, there has been some green hair alage growing on my rock.... sad

Its usually cos of nitrate spike. U might wana test for that . reduce it n If u have algae cuc like tang or algae blenny they'll be gone.

Brown algae on the sand will go away after a while with tank maturity. The rest is either algae scrubber in sump, reduced lighting. Or just black oyama the sides of the glass u dun view and ignore the algae there.

Best design
Tecos tk range has a cap to direct exhaust towards an opening in ur cabinet. Just make anotther slot or hole maybe an inch or 2 wide on the other side hidden to stream in outside air. I have no intake holes the air just goes thru the gaps of the door in front and behind the tank.
This is the inside

I agree on point 10 too. Ive kept to being content with just the easy to moderate corals. My no3 is 1-2 cos of DSB n bio pellets, but I can't keep up with the regular water monitoring and change requirement for the harder ones.

If the purpose is to drop no3 and phosphate won't any aquatic plant do?
The answer is speed. Plants are slow, and that's why you see algae grown right on top of them. Will cover this later.Chaeto is commonly used in marine for nutrient export as it doesn't turn sexual and they grow very fast, which helps in nutrient export
The sexual part is correct, but chaeto is actually a slow grower which I will cover.
My cheato grew v fast when no3 was high. But once no3 was handled and I cleared like 3/4 of them for regrowth, algae took over. So the author's info so far has basis.

Beautiful fish, but heard it's a handful to keep it healthy, let alone alive
If a mandarin can make it in the tank, this fish will make it. Needs pods on lots of rock multiplying . prob 2 feet for every one of these or a small mandarin. My 3 feet currently sustains a small mandarin and leapoard wrasse.

Another tip is to plaster black the top of the tank's glass jutting out horizontally above the water surface This stops ur aquarium light from hitting the front top panel of the glass and prevent algae growth there. No corals growing at that angle so its perfect also.

My experience on leaning rocks on e side of e glass was bad. I feel like algae tends to build on more. So I avoid any rocks near glass. :/

As in totally heck care the sides of the glass let algae grow out. Cos its blacked out. Like in the pic below. So I just need to maintain the front side. Much easier. Nothing to see from the sides anyway. Another bonus is it blocks sun light.

Hi. This is a good tip. Even expensive reef feed uses oyster eggs. By chop meaning... How fine was it?

If the purpose is to drop no3 and phosphate won't any aquatic plant do ? Why cheato or specifically algae ?

on all time!
Wow ok.. cos i only on my lights for 8 hours in my sump on the night cycle. Can't imagine 24/7.. cos it'll heat up the water even more against the chiller.

high flow rate!
The wavemaker is instrumental for the current status of my tank. I think they're just like corals too and high flow makes the slim or other lower form of algae harder to stick onto the macro.
Traceable NO3!
Cannot imagine NO3 near zero. The macros will start 'whitening' at near zero NO3. I have been dosing NO3 infact, but this is really an unique case
I am also running a sump with plant grow LED light of 18w on 24/7 cycle and the greens grow really well there
24/7 as in they r on all the time or during daylight hours? I think ur flow rate tip is correct. My sump tank overflow is quite slow water doesn't really move.

you can get isocket from their website. www.isocket3g.com.
select the one for UK to be compatible with our sg socket. for temp probe it is additional you have to get the temperature sensor pro which is used for fish tank.
alternative you can use the china caperplus. buy from taobao. they have the new version which comes with temperature and PH probe.
