i wld think 8.8 is still acceptable ... the problem is when the ph drop below 7 then u have to be more worry with the water parameter. Sometime my ph goes until 9 depending the time u do the test. When your lighting is on normally your ph will be a higher.

copperband fish and pappermint shrimp will be the good choice to get ripe of this aiptasia. However if u used copperband the challenge will be to keep it alive after all the aiptasia gone... this fish will not touch any pallet.

bro is the tunze still available

I have never seen anyone successful in feeding pellets to SH, this may be due to the way SH eat.
SH feeds by ###### the food into is mouth without munching. Pellets are dried up and are too hard to be eaten this way.
Besides, SH are quite finicking, it is already a challenge to get them to feed on frozen mysis!
Thanx for the reply bro ... i dont have any experince in SH. My maintank all fishes and corals. What abt giving dried brine shrimp to the SH. Will that works .. say that u let it wet and soft first before giving to the SH. The reason i ask is that my nano tank is in my office which dont have any frezer to keep frozen brine shrimp or mysis shrimp. Another questions.. at the moment my nano tank is occupied by boxer shrimp .. can the SH be mixed with the shrimp.

Beside frozen food do the seahorse eat pellet. I'm interested to set up nano tank for seahorse

Very informative ... i have try copperband fish to fight the aptasia and it works like wonder. Within 2 weeks all my problem settled but the worry is with the fish, it cannot sustain and died in my tank after 2 months. And now the aptasia has make a come back... " I'm Back" hehehheh. At the moment i'm using kalw to fight it but very troublesome if the aptasia is situated at dificult spot. I have try serching for Peppermint shrimp in KL but doesnt seem to have one. How abt Singapore is the Peppermint shrimp being sold there . I'm interested to get one. Anyone selling one heheheheh

I'm using ROenergy water ... it seem to be ok.

cannondale i see u used plastic to cover ur sump ... u sld try to find ways to reduce the splashing of water .. it will not good for the tank because u will lose the water quite often and u have to check ur salinity in order to have stable tank. I have one question abt skimmer ... if ur tank really stable said every zero for ammonia, natrite and nitrate will the skimmer still produce the gunk ... my skimmer doent skimm anything anymore or maybe my skimmer gone mad.
-
I myself have caught it before .. not sure what to do with it .. to let it die .. pity and sound really cruel. Lastly i just put inside my sump together with my micro algae .. not sure whether it is a good idea .....

Will cooperband fish eat other corals too ? like mushroom etc ?
I have the fish for 1 month now and the fish does not touch any other coral except aiptasia. But if u got feather duster worm then it will gone as well. From my reseach in the net the fish is reef safe but the problem will be on the food. Luckly mine after 2 week start eating frozen brine or mysis shimp. If your aiptasia is only a few try solving it manually such as using kalw or lime juice but if the numbers quite a lot then this copperband fish will do the job well.
-
If cannot solve manually try using pappermint shimp or copperband fish. I myself after fighting it manually for a couple of month have try copperband fish and within a week ... wallaaaaaaaaaaaa aiptasia gone with the wind

There r many reasons bro but u have to give more info of ur tank such as lighting, water parameter ect ect. May be the anemone itself has damaged. Basically anemone is suitable for mature tank ... how old is ur tank?

Thanks again everyone!
Ajeb, some of SRC's sponsors carry T5s. They typically come in various configurations. Check them out here... http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?c=11
Bro ..too many sponsors ..which one are u referring to? I like the look of ur T5
-
does coral chip really account for the high nitrate level in tank ? why ? if you don't mind i ask
LiveRock
Simply because it will also trap all the dirts and food.
-
Brudder really awesome tank you have there considering u r using T5 lighting. I thought u cannot get such a nice looking sps with T5 lighting. Btw how much does it cost to have 4 x T5 lighting set. I might as well follow your foot step in using T5 since we have the same tank size.

I have been using Diamond energy water to perform all my water change since the first day i had my tank. It's more than a year now and no problem.
Really zodiac ... for a year now mmmm may be is ok then to use energy water. Some have advised against it since what r added in the energy water might not be safe for the fish. Zodiac have u had any algae problem after using energy water.
-
hmm. how big is your tank? and what do you have in there?
My tank 4ft tank and 2 1/2 feet sump. At the moment i have 1 saifin tang, i blue tang, 2 clownfish, 1 damsel , 1 algae benny and 2 fishs cant remember their name. I also have 5 types of soft coral. I have been using energy water for the past 2 months.
-
terry u r rite what is energy water. Unfortunately such process cannot skip. I have tried using energy water during my monthly water change ... the fish and coral seem to be ok. Dont really know in the long term whether it is good for the fish and coral.
-
Hi guys . Need some expert advise here . I know that it is advisable to use RO water. What about filteration unit that combine with energy water , will it be safe for your fish and coral. My home minister has just installed one at my house. Thanx

will it cause undesirable algae to grow?
-
U meant it will grow the tube again.. So i can throw away the original tube? The feather? I dun quite get wht u meant regarding the feather.
Could u please explain to me. thank you.
Yep brudder u can throw the original tube since it will have new tube...

Some have suggested using RO/DI so that undesirable material in the water such as phosphat can be removed. I saw some places in Malaysia having water kiosk using RO system and with addition of energy water ... can this type of water safe for fish and coral guys. Sorry to add another question here heheh
