yah i think a budget setup of a 4x2x2 would be ard $4000 including livestocks.. i'm in the process of setting up my tank.. give a rough guide how the cost would add up... it would depend whether u want reef tank or FOWLR.. mine is a FOWLR and maybe simple corals later on... 4x2x2 tank with cabinet Chenggai wood (12mm glass) - $1150 Pipings + Unions + Check Valves + workmanship - ard $150 Return Pump - $275 Weipro Skimmers - ard $100 Lights (Dymax FL + PL) - $250 LR - $400 Test kits + Bioballs + Filter material + Sand - $200 Powerheads - $50 Salt - $60 Total here already more than $2600.. considered more of a budget setup already... Thefore if u setting up a 3ft.. total $3k shld be alright.. however.. dun halfway go upgrade to 4ft.. u going to spend much more money.. if u thinking of 4ft.. better start off with 4ft

maybe u can consider ocean runner by aqua medic.. but its going to be slightly more ex then ehiem.. but u save on electricity bill in the long run, furthermore.. less heat produced also.. for ocean runner 2500.. 2400l/h... power consumption only 38w..
