  1. Yeah I can see there is cash flow but my friend the word you use is MAY BE!

Let me give you a different scenario, MAY BE he was too busy gambling all his money. Then remember that he needs to buy present for people back home. No money so no present and no going home. So he sees the credit counter girl and she's smiling. Then gamble away the credit thinking to cover his losses. Guess what? He loses big time. Desperate and in debt look for local loanshark. Borrow money again. The rest of the story? Use your imagination.

I purely have nothing against anybody. For I am purely voicing out my point of view, the same way as many other singaporean in this country. If rule can be bend so can stories and scenario.

If you have studied economics before, you will know that what minsmarine had said will definitely happen. The scenario u mention could happen but that will only apply to the minority. Less than 0.1%? IMO, gonna be much less than that.

  2. Thanks bro Ekia. I think my salt is really affect by precipitation cos i put it in my cupboard and the whole packet of salt become soild. I had pour away the water and open a new packet of Red Sea salt and mix with water. Now no problem liao...the water is no longer cloudy.

Yup. Should be the case of precipitation. My salt once hardened before and ecountered the same problem. Didn't know what happened then and pour the mixture in. 1 week later, test water parameter in my tank: Ca-250ppm, kh-3... Use the same salt and prepare mixture again, the water was again cloudy. Test the newly prepared mixture: Ca- 280ppm, kh-3.... those cloudy stuff were actually calcium precipitates.

  3. Hi guys

I encounter the same problem also. I using redsea salt and had use a power head to let the water run overnite but the next day the water is still cloudy and the SG level is 1.021. Izzit safe to use the water for a water change in my tank? This is my 1st salt mix had been using NSW all the while...Should i pour away the water and make another salt mix??? Pls Advice :thanks::thanks:

If your salt mix is still cloudy, it might be caused by precipitation. Test the calcium and kH of the new saltmix. If the values are very low, it means the precipitation have occured. If you pour the new saltmix into your tank, will cause the Mg, Ca and kH level of your tank to go down ;)

  4. yeapz

and after a while, when these people are quiet....they'll let singaporeans in like they do with the foreigners....

anyway, just a side off, i think life in singapore getting tougher

china's economic booms, prices of things go up because china contributes to a demand which a supply cannot cope etc etc.

things ex, oil price rise...people needa work harder to earn more to sustain...no place to unwind cos this island so damn small...now that got casino...govenment impose restrictions on locals...can't unwind any more than we did in the past... but these restrictions ought to be in place to counter social problems

ok...i might be wrong about the next part since i'm not an economics student...but IMO: economic boost?...perhaps...but in the macro sense, not the micro economics of individuals because the money generated goes to government to spend on infrastructure...better hospitals and a nicer orchard road (fully air conditioned remember the last time they planned this one?), bigger and better schools (which then command higher sch fees), bigger and better airports, sea ports... yeah these are nice... but the income generated ends up with the government...not much ends up as cash for citizens.i think what most people need is more cash to spend...not bigger and better airports or airconditioned orchard

PS: disclaimer is as my previous posts

Better economy = more employment.... not necessary more cash for everyone though...

  5. All we can do now is just wait. Last time the people interest comes first but now money interest comes first. In this case the people got no say even after various religious leader rejected the idea, news still come out about 'casino' 'casino'. Well at least we know that part of the cement or brick used to bulid the casino comes from our pocket.

Last time we could afford to reject a casino because the travel sector was booming and there were lots of tourists coming to Singapore for Sentosa, Zoo, Birdpark etc etc. But now, these places had already lose the ability to attract tourists to stay in Singapore longer. Singapore's economy is quite dependent on tourism and thats the reason why we had such a top-class Zoo which is quite well-known around the world. Since it has lose its ability to attract tourists, we had to think of something else to replace it.

If I'm not wrong, the 2 casinos are not just purely casinos. It's more of a intergrated resort like Crown in Melbourne with a theme park(Genting Bhd. is joining bid with Unviersal Studio's theme park), hotels, restaurants, shopping etc etc. Imagine the amount of money it could bring in if all tourists extend their stay for one more day to visit this resort. Their hotel stay, food, shopping etc etc. It adds up to quite a lot. Not to say the huge amount of jobs that would be generated.

This is just only the economy side. Of course, everyone is concern about the social problems that could arise. When minsmarine said was correct, if one day we really couldn't compete competitively with neighbouring countries and our GDP started to fall until we reach recession. We could have a problem there too. It will be too late to do something by then. ;)

I won't pay $100 just to go into the casino! Haven't go in already lose $100!!!!!!!

  6. totally agree with u... too dependent on stevie g when he's playing.. we can cope when he's nt playing at all... i mean when he's on the pitch everybody is like waiting for him to make things happen.. hope u understand wat im saying :lol: its the same when we're too dependent on macca, dependent on owen to score.. its becoming a cycle... next big name scouser i feel is gonna be john welsh.. he gt the makings..

Understand what u meant. Whenever I watched S. Gerrad and Liverpool playing, the players kept passing the ball back to him when he was behind even they could have made a fast break

  7. Sudden change of water quality will affect your sps/corals. Whether using rowa, purephos or any other products that remove phosphate will be the same.

I hope i am not wrong in giving your this info.

    ;)

yup.. agree with reefholic. Try searching about RTN/STN together with rowaphos in reefcentral. You can find lots of information about the reasons for causing rtn/stn. Mainly caused by sudden decrease in PO4 levels. Rowaphos's effect could have been worse as they are really deadly PO4 suckers
