  1. Hi Reefers,

Due to family and job commitments, with a heavy heart i will be Decoming my tank soon. Entire tank was custom made by CRA and its around 2 years old. The full tank set has warranty of 5 years against leakage. I have also custom build a dry compartment with control panel for this tank set. tank condition is 9/10. view to believe! Recently i have added a frag tank to the side but sadly do not have time to commission it.

i'm will try to let go the entire tankset with all equipment and lifestock and whatever products i'm using for my reef tank (mostly FM stuffs) first. i keep only SPS and tank is maintain via dosing 3 parts. if no interest then I will proceed to list lifestock follow by tank and equipment. Interested parties can view the tank at CCK at my convenience and discuss on the price. For those who are interested in the entire setup can offer me a price but please do not try to low ball me as i'm in no hurry to sell off the tank. some equipment still comes with warranty. below are the list of equipment. interested please contact me at 82 zero14 zero15.

  2. Quarterly maintenance of light fixture. Particularly important in a household with cats & dogs.

And also a quick wipe down with a damp cloth to get rid of salt spray on the lenses.

The corals have been growing taller & the wavemakers are now blowing at the stems directly causing tissue damage on the side facing the wavemaker.
Had to raise the wavemker closer to the water surface to 'clear' the corals. For the Vortech wavemakers, I make it a point to secure the cables with a hook so the wet side does not drop when the dry side is removed (eg for cleaning). The larger wavemaker is secured with an additional wire cable just in case.

Watched a ReefDudes video recently where a guest reefer claimed tank ORP is improved with the lid removed. This seems like some anecdotal findings but i'm keep to explore this or whether the tank does better. Printed some clips to lift the lid up to allow more air exchange where the bubbles forms.

  3. Got the new Coral Box dosing pump yesterday. This one is compact, Wifi enabled has has tremendous control capability via a mobile app.

My initial plan was to get  a single channel doser but the 4 channel seemed value for money.

Got a couple more things at the same time. Acrylic holding tray and holders. The colored dosing tubes are an extra value added item provided by ReefmarketSG when you get the dosing pump from them. I've used these tubes previously - they are slightly larger, fit better than the original dosing tubes (i'm not using those) and the colors help with differentiation.

Items in the box : 12V power supply, check valves & a calibration tube
There are 5 dosing heads in the box. Great that 1 spare head is provided

The small footprint is great as any available space in the cabinet is precious.

4 clips secure the dosing heads to the unit. These are the 4 clips to release if the heads are to be removed in future.

Press fit in. Note that the heads turn anti-clockwise. Pump 1 is on the left. Pump 4 is on the right.
A reminder sticker is provided in the box.

Mounting holes at the back of the unit. This means it can be mounted directly to the cabinet. No need for the acrylic tray.

Mounted mine vertically. Attached one pump to push fresh water into the kalk reactor. Using a proper dosing pump for this provides more control over kalk dosing.

The device uses a mobile app for control, so its quite intuitive & packed with features.

Basically, define the total amount to dose per day,

And define the hour you want to dose or skip. And the system will auto calculate for you.
    5c7b8ab937e14_IMG_4810(Small).thumb.PNG.227990a07432dee2814444d62b64419b.PNG

If dosing other elements like Ca, Mg, KH. Its possible to define the reservoir volume so the app will send you a reminder when the volume is empty.
    5c7b8aa678863_IMG_4812(Small).thumb.PNG.be5dd13caa32aed7b6d86bafb8ba1956.PNG

Calibration is quite simple. Run the calibration (eg. 10ml). Collect water into the vial & re-enter the actual volume collected. Run 2-3 times & it'll become spot on accurate.

Overall happy with the dosing pump. Going to hook up the other channels this week.

One thing to note is that the Wi-Fi is link to the device directly. Can't do adjustments via cloud. Not sure y they dun wan set up a cloud service for this.

  4. For the 2.5 ft No3 still at 0. And this week PO4 also zero.

Something is taking in all the nutrient although I had started dosing KNO3 since 16th Aug.
