  1. Some other inhabitants. All have grown much more since this pic.
  2. Close-ups. Have added more recently.
  3. Here are some pics of the zoos, will post more pics soon:
  4. Thanks for all your comments & deepvlue for editing the pic. Lightningstrike: The flow from the PH is really really weak even though its rated at 1000 L/hr, the flow leaks all around the body. Have moved some of the mentioned changes though. Fuel: The lobster was one of the earliest inhabitant of the tank since my old 2 ft. Its always hiding in the rocks and only comes out occasionally at night. Very hardy fella cos I've never fed it before. Will watch the fella though. All: I was thinking of removing the SPS since my light doesn't colour it up. It has grown alot just that it looks so plain brown. Am in the process of getting more zoos but not quite sure how to place them on the rocks to make a "layer" of carpets. Any ideas to keep them on the rocks without them floating away?

  10. I also have the same problem with my gonio. From very nice yellow to transparent colour. Been about 3 months now. Will the colour come back??? Rest of the corals ok though
  11. u can use a pump with flow rate about 2500 l/hr to get good skimming for the 2012. To get the thick skimmate, just add a air control valve (about 50 cents from fish shop - for air pump) to the transparent plastic tube sticking out that sucks air to the venturi. U can limit the air and also control the water flow abit to thicken the skimmate. I prefer skimmate that is not too thick so easier to clean, just rinse instead of digging shit out of the cup!
  12. Haven't heard many people using 14000K. Now gotta research on this. Haven't seen the effects of it. Would it be yellowish cos I wanna change my 10000K is due to this. One tunze not enough? Currently I have return from IOS about 4000l/hr, one eden 1000l/hr, and one 1000l/hr ph giving 6000l/hr = about 20 times. If I add the tunze it would be 40 times. I was afraid that that might stir up too much sand. I've got a mixed reef but mostly zoos, hammers, and one acro. Was hoping to replace the eden and ph with the tunze giving 10000l/hr = about 30 plus times. Thought that would be sufficient. Anyway, I'm not too good at plaing the flows as well as the sand gets stirred up real bad. Do u place your flows near to the surface of the water? I placed one ph halfway down the tank to give more flow to the substrate to clear the diatom but its hard to get the right angle.
  13. Hi I am considering changing the 10000K bulbs on my MH to 20000K for 150W. Wats a good brand and where can I get it. Price need to be reasonable. Also will a tunze 6060 be too much for a 4X1.5X2 (IOS)?
  14. INterested in your MH. PM me your contacts for viewing.
  15. Hi Where did u get the red gonio from? Thanks.
  16. there's one by wessbond... picutre somewhere on this website. Good but white colour, and stinks.
  17. OIC. What about the brown stuff on the sand? Tot those were diatoms. I just clean the glass about twice a week anyway.
  18. Hi Fuel, U mean the lawnmower blenny can clear up the diatom? I have a diatom problem & have a golden head goby but he only keep clearing at one corner. Also read that the blenny may nip sps and clams from liveaquaria.com
  19. I also bought a yellow one recently and it opens to that at the most. Can I know where u got this blue one? Nice.
  20. Was thinking about it too. Parts of the rock might chip off, get caught in the pump too. This advice was given by the staff at eAq********.***. But guess he was trying to help too as I told him about my high nitrate and lack of sump.
  21. First time I heard about that also. But is it not feasible?
  22. I just bought Rowaphos, bagged it and left it in the overflow compartment. Is the placement ok? The instructions not very clear.
  23. I feed my fishes brine and mysis shrimp. I don't thaw it but just hold the block in the water and all the fishes and shrimps will scurry to it and eat off it. When the food breaks off too much, I'll just hold it above the water level, wait for them to finish the excess thats floating about then hold the food in the water again. I do this to prevent the food getting uneaten then dirty the tank.
  24. I think those ceramic rings are causing the NO3, and I guess the tubes connecting the input/output supply of water also collect detritus. Was advised by a LFS that can put some small life rocks in your canister... but I'm not sure if ok. Currently, I'm slowly removing the chips & rings and replace with seachem denitrator & rowaphose. Mine's just an IOS system. Bioload quite low so hope the tank can achieve optimum conditions that way.
  25. I want more anerobic bacteria (those thrive without O2) to help with converting the nitrates to Nitrogen. Thats why at first I put the bag on top of the pump. I just removed 1/3 coral chip & replaced with denitrator in the overflow compartment. Dun know if that will cause more nitrates instead. Pls advise. Thanks.
