  1. This is what happens when the cleaner scoots past without telling the goniopora. Haha! Can see the trail and which way the shrimp went!
  2. My maroon pair in their host anemone. She is just relaxing and rubbing herself warm in there.
  3. Errm...Think he is working too hard...Should get some rest?
  4. Cleaner shrimp doing what he is suppose to do! Yeah!
  5. The same cup with my tang with goniopora in the foreground.
  6. One of the cup in my tank. Try spotting the smaller cup in the tank photo...
  7. An even closer look hehe, look at those polyps! So cute like mini daisies!
  8. A look at my gem and companion nearby the cup haha!
  9. Harlow guys! Having reared Discus and many other fishes for 20 years of my life, I decided to go marine due to the saying that a marine tank is hard to keep. Haha, so when there was a tank left sitting in my bunk, I decided to setup my very first marine tank! Now at one and a half months old, it is slowly evolving! So I would like to check you guys in here, where the fun starts haha! This is where the coral stocking starts. Livestock-wise I think it is enough already. Here's the list, LS ~ A pair of Maroon Clowns A Yellow Tang A Skunk Cleaner Shrimp A Batfish (Platax orbicularis) Reefy ~ A Hammer coral A Lime Green Goniopora (my gem! ) Two Cup corals Lots of mushrooms all over LRs, green, transparant and white. Inverts ~ Bubble Anemone Feeding them market prawns and Nutrafin slow sinking morsels. Equipment ~ Weipro 2011 with Rio 1700 running it. Jebo hang-on filter ###### skimmer Coral and Ocean Sun flourescent lighting I am currently not using any additives. Haven't decided whether to dose anything yet. Suggestions? Water parameters on 9th July 2004 ~ Ammonia - 0ppm Nitrite - 0ppm Nitrate - 30ppm (grrr...new tank can't blame, got algae already! ) pH - 8.5 Temp. - 26.8-27.6C So far very satisfied with my tank and everything is looking good besides the lack of a background and the brown algae!!!
  10. Errr... I thought you going fishless? Haha, tempted to put in LS huh! yeah Elegance is ool coral, I am thinking of getting one for my tank too! Must get some space leh, lots of hard corals liao. Later got hard coral wars.
  11. Haha! It is a good idea of going fishless, something new. But I don't think that I can have my tank that way. Not much activity to observe. Great that your corals are full and all puff up man! Seems like they are real happy after feeding. Oh, cool skimmate from a low end skimmer. Looks like you won't have Nutela and me neither for a month or so after seeing that pic. Haha!
  12. Oppss... Ok thats bad. Got them when I bought LR from another reefer.
  13. I think the spinkling gives the same effect as trickle filtration. It really helps oxgenate the water. Bacteria have no problem growing on damp LR. Just as long as it does dry up. Cheers!
  14. Hey guys! I need help to ID this bunch of cuties! They glow green under actinic blue light. ThankS!
  15. As requested by some reefers. Just taken some pictures of my camera.
  16. "your DSB can either work or crash with disaster results." Err... So in what way would the DSB crash? How do you control whether it crashes or works for you and controls nitrate? "It's alot nicer with a DSB though as I have no doubt about that but maintenance wise it's more work then one might think..... " What husbandry skills and maintenance you do to your DSB? I thought no need to touch them at all? Hehe... getting all confused here.
  17. Yeah, maybe you should get more liverocks and stack up further on the sides and middle. Maybe some tonga branches would help to give it a more irregular pattern instead of a boulder look. Just my thougths as my current aquascape is also about the same as yours. Whatcha think?
  18. It's a squid!!! Think that eye-looking thing maybe a decoy. Hmm....
  19. Haha! Yeah good idea. More circulation guys!!! Acanthurus pyroferus - DSB doesn't help you with NO3 reduction?
  20. So looks like DSB isn't all that good lah. Just for looking nice thats all. Hmm... Interesting points you guys made. guess I would try a bare bottom setup with my 3footer. Cause I rear Discus and I keep them bare bottom too haha! Not much of a problem and I love ###### out all the "s**t" and crap with my 2 inch hose.
  21. Hey, bubble see that you're having fun and doing well going at a 2 ft tank. I see that your tank is unique cause it has no sand. Is there a reason behind this? Or you see no need for it? Cheers
  22. Still available, buyer backed out. Upzzz!
