  1. I had a similar moving out sometime back to my 3 footer, slightly higher bioload than yours and some corals. Did similar to what tofu described except, I air bubbles (portable) the media during transportation. Kept fishes and corals in separate styrofoam boxes for 1 week with media. Peform partial WC alternate days. Fill tank with 80% new SW, dump in 1/3 bottle of stability each day for 3 consecutive days. Water test if it's safe.

  2. Its advisable to do partial WC daily if storing in containers/drums since there isnt proper filtration. Throw in some medias/LRs into the containers for nitrification. I did that during my upgrade, trsf 2 fishes on alternate days. Provided you have enough matured medias in new tank.

I heard, some people use those huge jerry can/water drum to store fish and coral inside for transportation.

  3. Thank you for responding. I'm having a 4 footer (mixed reef) and height of my return is about 1.7m. Intend to have 2 outputs into the DT. 1 will be direct while the other goes into chiller and UV before hitting the DT.

Thinking of removing some wm from DT. Do you think the flow is sufficient?

Hi I’m using this. The 6k version. It is very quite and controllable. For the price point it’s worth it.
