next is my mr pearl bubble. biggest i have seen it expand is around 8", usually around 6" (excludes tentacles) $50

bi color luminous frogspawn. one of my fav. opens up easily to around 4 or 5 tennis balls size. total of 9 heads (if i remember correctly). $60

next up is another prata(3), orangy color, expands around 5"
got some of the black sand on it when i took the pic (thanks to the sand sifter goby)

pretty normal prata (2), got some nice orange streaks. opens up around 8" $60

next is squamo, shell alone is around 7" in length, opens up to around 6" width.
got it from harlequin coz of the color (i like the blue spots) $70

im finally decomming my starphire tank. livestock are all healthy and blooming.
first up, red prata (1) $80. opens up around 6" ~8", fluffy kind

i would run a LOT of carbon and change the filter wool every few hours. best course of action would of course be changing water (50% or more).
but im a very lazy person. if its me, i would depend on my skimmer to do the job, as mine is oversized and over rated for my tank.
how minced up is it? it might crash your tank if too many pieces of it is scattered around

i got the sand from petmart. its those gilttery type. quite cheap.

im using black substrate in my tank. i think it has almost been a few months already. my experience so far is that its quite easy to maintain. i have a sand sifter and the little guy helps to keep the sand clean.
the tank definitely darker than when i used white sand. my wife commented that it looks unnatural (which is true), but provides excellent contrast for corals (which is also true).
all in all, im quite happy with my black substrate.

to me, its almost like dosing sugar. i tried half a bottle once, and there was totally no difference from sugar.

As to my earlier post before yours, I just stated my experience with a certain MLM company, not implying anything. So please cut me some slag, am i not entitle to share in this forum? there's of course no need to justify yourself to everyone in src, but it would be decent to publicly apologise to tanvincent since undeniably you avoided paying him for the tunze for 6 freakin months. if i were a betting man, i would wager you had hoped he would just give up chasing you for money eventually and kept quiet about the whole affair. is you a man or is you a mouse?
for my part, i will post this thread every time i see a trade thread involving you, even though i don't log on that often, just so there aren't any surprises.

hey guys,
a little update on my tank. i have recently changed the substrate, added more rocks, and rescaped the whole tank. i haven't added any feso4 for the past few days. parameters are looking good. feeding very very little to prevent any spikes. so far things are going well.
i planning to try this tomorrow:
1. switch off my return pump
2. dose feso4 into sump
3. circulate the water in sump with a powerhead for 10 min
4. filter out the brown stuff with a cannister filter for 1 hour
4. switch on my return again
what do you guys think? will prolly do this in around noon. i will test the phospate level before and after.
