im using the clip fan too.....6" blade and doing fairly well..........
using chillers still need toping up......

Hi Guys,
im using a Teco RA680 for my 4ft tank and have this funny idea on how to save $$.....as not to get the chiller run all the time....
Im currently running on 2 x 150watt MH.......
I have set my Teco to 26 deg and it will only run if it hits above 28deg (2deg differiential).
My Idea.......
To use a fan to maintain the tank temp not higher than 28 deg so the chiller will not activate (i have maintain it around 27.8 deg). As my MH is running for 6hrs a day, the chiller will be resting for the rest of the day (18hrs).
the temp will shoot above 28 deg only if the MH if on........
Thats where the chiller will be working.........other than that, it will not activate...Guys, what do you think of this..........???

i ve never try looping........but u can try. the most, it will not fire up....
i only know straight forward wiring.......... -
oh...ok.
ur on off switch will be at the end wire.......if there are 3 pins on the switch, one will be the earth....
pls see below....hopes u can understand.

if i were u, i make 2 switches. so i can control 2 tubes at a time rather than when i switch it on, it fires all 4 tubes........

try PR....saw they have a BLV 70watt DE bulbs........if i see it correctly!!

if tank only, should be @ $200 for 8mm.......its much safe to have 10mm for 3ft.

u should improve in your lanscaping.....the LR looks like it just had an earthquake......overlaping each others.
u also need more corals.........u need more colors.

This mh is actually meant for hanging type.But I not keen to drill holes,so tinking of letting it sit on the tank.
if u dont drill holes, how to let it sit on the tank.....best is u DIY alluminium stands.....
the only sollution.

what MH did u get for ur tank? industrial type??
also, u mention thats there small particals? did u wash ur sand before u add to ur tank? if yes, after u run the tank, the small partical will be trap in ur filters.

if u have the choice, forgo the 2 brands. go for a more reliable chiller.
why not try out reef relief? heard its a good chiller so far.....and also looks good

theres no eballast that mean for T5 now.......Osram is the closest so far.
most of the reefers here is running using elbiru without any problem. i using mine for 4mth lioa.
look at the cost. if u have more $$ to spare, go for osram. if not, elbiru will also run fine....
