u can change less amt each time but more frequently. for me, 1-2 pail weekly.
permanent pump in the pail to pump water out.

My QT uses a airstone and a hangon filter.
When no fishes, it is also running, so water is always establish. Water change I dun really specifically do. i.e dun mix any water for QT.
I top up water and uses the water change from my main tank to exchange the QT water.

using a 2ft tank to treat. the yellow color is more than a tinge.... feel like doing a 100% water change.
i dun have an extra skimmer now. btw can a skimmer work properly at this salinity and does everyone use a skimmer in their QT?
good news, the fish is recovering and starting to feed on BS.

3 days ago i started a qt to treat my sohal tang. the setup includes only a polyfilter, lights and cirulation pump. water is getting very yellowish despite 20%water change daily but fish looks ok inside.
i'm concerned whether the fish can make it in such water conditions as i don't have an extra skimmer for this tank.
pls advise...thanks.....

Hi rocky...that's good to know as I also have a 5 x 2 x 2 tank, and my CL450 will bring the temp down to 27.5 but I want it down to 26.5. Was thinking of either the CL650 or CO500.
By the way, is your tank in an air-con room?
no aircon. i put chiller in the kitchen and the tank in the dining room.
cl650 can do the job.
but since you are getting a new chiller, i suggest the C0500. the bigger compressor can run shorter periods of time, giving it more time to rest and therefore a long life span. and also just in case u decide to upgrade to a bigger tank in the near future.

Giant AT not there anymore?? Thinking of going there to have dinner and take a look at the tank there.. seems like no need liao..
maybe cos i went there late abt 8pm, AT might be sleeping behind the rocks. but again, other fish got ich, i doubt it will survive for long.

just had my dinner at suntec.
what happened to their display tank? doesn't seem to be in good shape.
many of the tangs got ich and i never see the giant AT there anymore. the corals don't look healthy. remember seeing a big fleshy elegance coral that is no longer there.
a big contrast from 3 weeks ago when i was there.

sorry for the confusion. to swap aquaz blue pro or 20kk tubes for actinic tubes. all my blue pro and 20kk tubes are brand new. not fired.

haha, u mean you were the buyer for that pump he sold?
btw, Rio32 is an excellent pump imo. powering my beckett more than 6mths liao. never did any maintenace, flow rate still as good and no noise issue or breakdown.
