  1. Presenting 4 beautiful little successful Reidi fries.....
  2. To Jonathan543, 4 feet refugium common to 3 feet tk + 4 feet + 2 1/2 feet tank combined. Dose only Calcium and Magnesium + replace 20 to 40 litres of natural sea water weekly. 2 chillers - 1 running full load other on-off control. 5000 litres of flow thru. If inclusive of fry tanks. Total volume should be 1000 litres.
  3. I prefer green water, but my fries never actually live in visibly green water. I dose green water to feed plankton, indirectly feeding them.....
  4. Hi Chinmo, Look for Henry from Marine Life - One of the sponsors. Tel: 67774047. Should be able to assist you with load of DT. Also look into seahorses.de - Breeding - Plantkon method I and II for your reference. Use a separate tank such as a round pail. Start preparation now. Lastly, just 3 to 5 per container or.... dire conseqences. .....well we will never be short fall of seahorses anymore... thank to TMIS. Cheer for all.
  5. Beautiful. Expecting next brood 3 weeks time. Expecting mine in 2 weeks. What the reasons behind for a bare tank. How many SHs and size of your tank? What the perforated partition for? Do you own a refigum? Amphipod is the answer after 2 months....
  6. Not worrying about changing colour, only male not eating yet. I have no experience training mine into eating frozen. But usually male is shyer and eat lesser and eat last.
  7. Hi Jonathan543, Keep me posted if unsuccessful in SW shrimping. Your seahorses shouldn't be starving > 3 days. Too weak to fight stress.
  8. Hi Janathan543, to your rescue! Bukit Gombak - Xiao QuiLin park. Quary pond side. Use a small net, scoop toward the muddy bankside. Guarante small FW shrimps ranging from 10mm to 15mm size. Your new seahorses should love it. Do reserve some for me. Keep me posted of yor new seahorse condition. Decentkid, No problem but please limit to just enough for couple of days. It will loadup your bio-system if dead. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to All, not forgetting our seahorses....
  9. Go decentkid go go go.... shrimping. A big bucket, big net and a little air pump. Don't catch more than enough. They will died easily when temp rises. Normally put about 120 lasting about 3 days for 4 SH. Mid tide is the best. Approximately 6 hours between high and low. Good luck.
  10. Ours with FW shrimps but enriched it with cyclop-eeze prior feeding. Weekend special with SW shrimps. An inch longer after 6 months. Pasir Ris should be a good place with SW shrimp. UDMC chalets sea side. Larvae Shrimp usually found both sides of a swampy estuary at ebbing or near to low tides. Use a foot by foot fine net should do the jobs and prepare to get wet. An old friend of mine is considering shrimping and pack for sale. May be 100 shrimps in a pack. How does it sound fellow enthusiast?
  11. Hi Acedopline, If your source can accommodate a mixture of difference type such as Dwarf + Reidi + others, I would like to have 10 pairs of Dwarf. I am madly in love with Dwarf - easy to maintain, promiscuous and profilic...and, All guys how about a gathering - Seahorse fanatic meeting - to discuss plans and resources for the breeding of next generation?
  12. Hi Decentkid. Sound like jonathan543 know another shrimping source. "interesting to feed my alligator pipes with live shrimps.... stealth & fierce" Care to reveal?
  13. Hi Decentkid, Why would you want live shrimps when your horse are feeding well with frozen mysis. It a pain when you need extra tank to house your live shrimp. It doesn't survive well in captivity. Need cool water about 26 Deg C and food to maintain. One of the spot is at Pasir Ris fishing pond. It was once open to Public for fishing. Now that owner change hand, you can ask if they allow you shrimping. Go up to the last few small ponds. Look closely down around the side bank. I don't deny the thrill seeing my horses chasing after live shrimps.
  14. Hi Acedophine, Great news, but really need to look at pictures before decide. I'm only interested in the bright yellow, red or orange brazilians. If so, I will go for 3 pairs.
  15. Don't fret. We had gone thru 6 batches before settled with 4 beautiful fries. Ever since, the male has been trying hard but the female is not receptive even she is bearing eggs. Hoping you could donate just 10 if next batch available immediately on the 1st day. Cheer!
  16. Fed only after 1st 24 hours with concentrated 5ml DT several times/day in a self contained 2 feet tank natural live sea water + old water, but cycled about a month with just air bubbling. Only 4 fries - less competition. After 14th 24 hours, fed daily 2g zocon enriched BBS and after 2 months....if you go that far, we will discuss then......
  17. Should be 3000 per day if left alone with rotifer.
  18. Hi Chinmo, A tank too many. Concentrate on just 10. Don't hesitate. Let them be with the parent last few moment. 3rd day is too critical if volume of food is not met by individual. Bless then all
  19. How many came out this time? Be patient, after 2nd day should be fine.
  20. Anyone on Watercirle waiting list? Send several E mails there but never reply. Very Tao! Guess our immediate hope is there. Got to make them talk and show our enthusiasm.
  21. We should check all available farm-breed SH and select the type majority like. Share the cost if possible among ten hobbists.
