  1. I mean use drip method in lieu of using a reactor, that is only if, the drip method can keep up with the calcium usage in your tank (otherwise a calcium reactor might be better).

The drip with the kalk can serve as top up quite conveniently as you need to top up the drip container once every 3-4 days (average) with the kalk solution prepared instead of performing water top-up every day.

My dkh has been quite consistant at 8dkh (only once in a recent measurement did it jump off the record due to too high calcium addition utilising calcium powder !!!) for now my drip will suffice in providing calcium to my tank.

    ok thanks MT !!

too late ..i bought the KR liao

    hehe

  2. Hi Des,

I have used Reefez and Aquapharm and Tunze. As I am using the Magnetic Stirrer KR, the size of the Kalk is critical, thus I will only share my preference based on whether they works well with my KR.

Aquapharm: Size of of Kalk inconsistent. Sometimes too big sometimes too small.

Tunze: Size too fine for my KR, stirrer unble to effectively mix Kalk.

Reefez: So far the best of the 3, consistent size and can be effectively stirred.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi gouldian bro,

    thanks for sharing.

How long does the kalkwasser last u each time?

  3. Just to share, there are many brands of kalkwasser available, i personally use Kent marine.

Besides using a kalk reactor/stirrer, you may wish to try kalk dripping - cheaper and serves its function.

    HI MT,

do u mean by using KR and dripper together ?? :o

ive personally tried dripping, but due to my forgetfulness , i end up dripping once in every 2-3 days...hehe

    What's ur constant dkH ?

    cheers

  4. Hi all,

am actually using the dolphin 0608 pump for my chiller return.

As i suspect that my chiller is not working at its optimal spd, thus im forced to find out the flowrate of the pump.

Anyone has the box or used this pump before pls kindly let me know thanks

Or whats the optimal pump to be used with resun 650 ?

    Thanks for all time taken..

  5. i've already made clear that i am a believer of the red sun coral in a post just a few before this so your claim and effort to correct me is duely noted

as to gothia, i did apologise to her for my tone used :peace:

as for DA and yiling, i believe the last few posts before this one have shown i do not bear enmities towards any of them :peace: and have i claimed that yiling's sun is losing colour? NO.my efforts to yiling's red sun has only been to keep us updated of its health.

you claim i have no reason to doubt the existance of a red sun, let me clarify that i do have reasons. what reasons you ask? i shall not elaborate further for it'll just start another string of arguments and will hinder those from wanting to share pictures with us.

so if you would, i believe DA and i have already agreed case closed

you have achieved the objective of correcting me and i have achieved mine of becoming a believer... so now, leave this thread to people who wants to share their sun corals with the rest of us

Hi shoe, im not mad with you or anything. But i really feel that u should read up more on stuff before u start commenting on any articles. This a forum to share information and experiences, and not to further confuse people.

I still remembered when i first joined SRC looking for a skimmer, you kindly gave me advice to buy the same skimmer as yours. Which i found out shortly that it wasnt performing well. But at that point of time , i did not doubt your knowledge as i believe that everyone sets their standards differently.

So i went on to buy another skimmer from a fellow reefer weeks later. And to my misbelief, you are actually bidding for it as well ! Things got worse when u accused me for 'snatching' your skimmer when i woke up early that day.

I hope this is not the reason why u keep questioning about my red 'sun' ?

Shoe, i really urge you to comment on things that you REALLY know.

you are after all a senior reefer with a whooping amount of posts.

BTW nice sun you've got :)

Ill lnvite you one of these days when my tank is ready k?

  6. To shoelevy,

i don't know which part of 'about' don't you understand.

So instead of proving my red sun coral is dyed, i guessed you have moved on to check on the calendar i guess.

Honestly , i really don't know why are you so interersted in my sun coral?

Did u missed out on that sale that day? Did it turned sour ?

Nevertheless, the one at re**** is from the same batch as mine. So if the colour is fading, and what about mine ?

Armed with google and those books u have, i believed i have found u something to do !!

Start a thesis on red suncoral !!

u MIGHT be a phD holder one day u know

  7. Hi gouldian,

i am sorry i did not read the rules and regulations before posting as i am relatively new here. initially did not want to join the forum because i have read numerous remarks and issues here as can be seen in the posts. however, as a singaporean, i should support a singaporean website so i signed up.

As far as i am concerned i have the right to reduce price if i want. Dispar anthias say his remark is merely a joke, ok i'll laugh about it.

As for you gouldian, i bought the coral as it is from the lfs. if u think it is bleached, may i ask which one is bleached? I guess i might as well return to the lfs and ask him why he sell me a coral that invite 'criticism', oops i mean 'joke'.

the price i paid for could be another 'joke' i suppose. so would u be helpng me then?

i think you will not be taking such a remark as a 'joke' in the first place, would u?

you may want to read the post again and then tell me how u feel about it. gentleman?

if u have difficulty giving a fair comment, then i rest my case with you. (joking lah) :thanks:

by the way, this is a joke.

HI jpaul, if u asked me which one is bleached...

i would answer ....all of them.

i believe its either u got it at a super cheap price (cuz its bleached )

Or might it be due to the poor husbandry skills that cause it to turn white ?

I think u should just withdraw your sales and nurse them back to health before trying to sell them again.

Who knows u might be able to sell them at $120..if its healthier :)
