  1. A friend of my brother complains he can't listen very clearly and he suspect due to his interests in listening to loud music. After sometime, he developed migraines too and suspected due to lack of sleep. My brother and his friends advised him to see a specialist, whom detected a tumor in the brain.

Do not ignore the signs your body is showing.

  2. not aggressive. only aggressive if 2 males of the same species are added.

if adding a male and a female, check for initial aggression first. usually will not fight. if fight, separate. in a large enough tank with plenty of hiding places, two un-paired ones can be kept together, with each staying in it's own territory

    OKOK.... thanks....

BTW, I am considering of going LCK this weekend. I got the address from Jacky "201 Lim Chu Kang" but couldn't to find anything from streetdirectory.com.

Anyone going there this coming weekend can lead me the way?

    PS: I am riding there.

  3. this is the royal gramma variant i'm talking about. notice the marks on the eyes are yellowish and the dorsal fin contains yellow lines on the purple side, and the an@l fin contains purple lines on the yellow side.

    But are they aggressive?

  4. just find them during carribean shipments. LCK or reborn.

if you want to try a pair, get a big one and a small one.

if you want to try a harem, get a few small ones and 1 big one.

for the harem, it's a hit and miss. some people try it but 1 by 1 die. best is to stick to a pair

Won't be getting a harem probably. A pair would be just nice :)

  5. Equip not bought overseas cfm no warranty by nikon sg unless given international warranty. I doubt this will be the case, prob grey sets.

My hunch is it sounds like a scam, Western Union doesn't give the consumer protection at all, as Bino has already mentioned.

    Some facts

    1) all camera bodies do not come with International warranty.

    2) Do not buy body without warranty. Its not worth it if you know how much the repair of a faulty shuttle will cost.

For lenses, you can refer the prices to this website.

    http://www.ygdragon.net/

Hong Kong is one of the cheapest. Anything cheaper selling online have a high possibility of scam.

  7. royal grammas are hermaphrodites. all start lives as females, then morph to become a male.

so smaller ones are usually females. to pair them, get 1 big 1 small.

Sounds good, where is a good place with more collection of the above? ThanxSmiley.gif

    Thanks friends.gif

  8. Actually it is bro. Thing is, the 2 LR that bino gave me are almost perfect. Simply stacked them up and it forms into a tower. In fact there's actually a hole in the top part of the tower, so many options. I owe him one.

thanks Goon. Will use a DSLR to show the dof better tonight.

Thing is, this morning, the tower was leaning on the front glass panel. It tilted down.

Must epoxy them sooner the new yellow wrasse brothers are not helpin by burrowing their home just below this new tower.

Hahaha.... must be an interest sight when they finally finish burrowing and the "house" collapse immediately.

  9. Bro, any dead rocks can be colonised by bacteria and coralline algae again. You can even use it in the main tank. As long as you cycle your tank properly, bacteria population will be back and as long as you maintain Ca, Mg and alkalinity, provide adequate light, coralline algae will grow.

Regarding your reply to Goondoo, if you wash and air dry the rocks for a week, it will be dead but no worries cos it will be populated by bacteria in no time once you cycle the tank.

As mention by bro binosage, do not worry about the bacteria and coraline algaes, they will colonised as your tank mature (ideal parameters, of course). If you are new to this hobby without prior experience, please let your tank go through the full ANN cycle like LemonLemon had always preached :P.

Take the waiting time to plan and read up what you want and have in mind. Scaping dead rocks does have its advantages, you can take your time stacking them outside your tank, epoxy them before placing them in your tank. Live rocks users seldom have that kind of luxury.

Just be patience or be very rich :)

  10. Depending on your intention of getting the "live rocks".

Some get live rocks for the establish colonies of bacterias, some for Coraline algae etc.

Its OK to add "dead rocks" to your tank if these are not your objectives. But you would probably need to do a complete ANN cycle during the start up.

Your live rocks cannot stay alive too long without "food" either. Wash them if you like the rocks. I usually use vinegar + water combination to soak it for a day, brush them, then soak in soda + water combination for another few to get rid of the vinegar smell.

  11. Hi all, need some precious advice frm Bros and Sis here.

  12. your welcome.

be careful with butterflies. many of them are extremely difficult to keep and 90% are not reef safe. if you need recommendation just let me know. will do my best to help.

That's what I am worry about. Thanks :)

For those that you named, from my experience they won't attack each other unless similiar shape. Unless you mean you want to keep more than one of each type?

Its not a common practice to add fishes in pair in marine huh?

i've not had much problem with flame angels. fierce but usually lose interest after awhile.

my powder blue on the other hand was very fierce. didn't leave my new fishes alone for few days to 1 week.

    individual fish i guess.

dottybacks......................................... no comment. the only dottyback that i had, and was peaceful, was Manonichthys cf. alleni.

my favourite dottyback so far and will definitely buy again when my new tank is up.

That look very nice. May get a pair too.... lol

  13. it's best to just keep one or none at all.

for flame angels, you can pair them based on pattern.

males have more blue on their fins and their dorsal and @nal fins are more elongated.

female flame angels have reduced blue pigments with very rounded fins.

powder blue tangs cannot be sexed based on colour or size. they are neither sexually dimorphic no dichromatic.

as for dottyback, i'm not sure.

i don't suggest keeping bicolour dottyback. it's very aggressive. If you want something with purple and yellow, get a royal gramma instead. the colour combination is same but they are much much better looking and very much more peaceful.

powder blue tangs are very territorial when established, and so are flame angels

if you want to keep a pair of flame angels, here's how to differentiate them.

first picture is the male and second is female. notice the edge of the an@l and dorsal fins. the males are pointed while females are very rounded. and compare the blue colouration. in very very young females, the blue colouration can be reduced to almost nothing.

    males are also usually bigger.

Sounds good, royal gramma is definitely a much better choice. I will get a pair along with a pair of Firefish after my holiday.

    Thanks for the great recommendation.

Maybe I should consider some butterflies before tang and angels.

    Thanks again LemonLemon!

  14. For territorial fishes, is it advisable to add them together or species by species?

    I am considering

    1) Tangs (probably PBT)

    2) Bicolor Dottyback

    3) Flame Angel

Does this fishes comes in pair?

    Many thanks!

  15. Just added another Tunze 6025 wave maker on the right side.

Aesthetically looks horrible with the extra wave maker and cable, but the flow has tremendously improved, which is more important. groupwavereversed.gif

Would have complete all the hardware I had planned for now.
