  1. Iona, I don advise u to use/DIY those PC fans. Tried twice & only last for 3-4 weeks These PC fans burn out very fast. Maybe because I on it 24 hrs a day. The clip-on fan still more reliable, powerful & cheap. NTUC selling those 7" for $25. Used mine for 1 yr now & still working fine. Just added another 6" 2 months ago. Temp now is average 27C. Remember to top up fresh water when u use fans. PH is definitely a culprit for heat. So is the light. I have changed my lighting using e-ballast & the heat is much lesser now. Suggest u act fast because weather is getting hot again.
  2. Where do u get it from I don mind having some to clean the detritus on the sand bed.
  3. Spade, I think I'm getting the sickness too. Have the follow symptoms: 3 - almost & soon. My wife said if my symptom no.6 continues 4,6,7,8,9 & 10 Actually, I have symptom 11 - U dream of yr fish instead of yr spouse/bf/gf Never knew live bloodworm can be fed to Marine fish. Always thought it's freshwater fish food. Let me know if it works
  4. Tango, Are u serious, u actually order this from USA Sorry ha....new here
  5. I use Zoe Marine from Kent. Read that Zoecon is just as good. Zoe Marine: Kent Zoe is a superior vitamin complex for Marine Fish, Invertebrates, and desirable algae. (Zoe does not contain phosphates as most competing vitamin supplements do, and will not cause unsightly algae growth!) It contains aquaculture grade vitamins, meaning that they are still active after one year in your aquarium! It is unique because it also contains natural minerals from spirulina and kelp sources. Competing products are preserved with glycerin, which is an alcohol and requires 50% concentration to preserve. Zoe is properly preserved, using less than ½% preservatives, yet has a 4 year shelf life with no refrigeration. Just smell the difference! Zoecon: Diets deficient in omega-3 fatty acids can promote head and lateral line erosion (HLLE) syndrome in freshwater and marine fishes. Zoecon provides essential marine omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. Enriches foods for saltwater and freshwater fishes. Contains shark liver oil, which contains natural immune system stimulants. Useful in raising fish and invertebrate larvae, as well as fortifying live food for juvenile and adult fishes and invertebrates. Phosphate and nitrate free, and contains no yeast or sugars!
  6. Spade, How's yr CBB now, eating??? I heard CBB mostly eat live food only. I tried twice & both starved to death. Saw Pet Mart selling live Brines Shrimps 2 weeks ago....not sure how clean though. why don't u try breeding some brine shrimps yourself, safer that way. The rest of yr fish will benefits too.
  7. No la.....only used Kent for the 1st time & have very clear water after mixing ma Since u are here, do u notice a high Ca reading after changing water with Kent?
  8. My wife loves Anthias, used to call them Pinky Tried 3 times......all dead within 1 week Need top water param & lots of live food. Also when frightened by other bullies, will go sky diving
  9. Errr.....I was there 2 weeks ago on a Saturday. The shop asst said they only have Coralife & it's those 'big' bags. Sorry for the wrong info. Btw, where can I get Kent Marine Salt beside Sealife?
  10. With that tank's size, think abt the water change u need to perform every week/mth
  11. I use both Seachem & Chemi-pure. Though packing said product can last for a few months, but i changed monthly.....expensive man Just a thought, do u guys always rinse yr carbon with tap water? won't it absorb some of the tap water (with chlorine) & leach back to yr tank. I usually rinse with tap water follow by water treated with de-chlorine & phosguard
  12. Though the LFS always said their LR is cured, don take the risk. I tried a few time & always caused hell in my tank. I cured my LR in a clean pail with air stone & DIY wet/dry filter (I kiasu ma) for 4 weeks before I put it in the main tank. Not sure this is the right way though. Anyone? It's also a good practise to SMELL the LR when selecting. If it small bad, better put it bad.
  13. I heard hermit crabs is good in removing hair algae. Where did u get it from?
  14. Is there any product in the mkt that can absorb NO3 fast & effective. I can't wait for my Seachem De-nitrate to kick-in. NO3 reading is still 100 mg/l (using Tetra test kit) after 50% water change.
  15. I have the same problem with cloudy water when using Coralife. Tried Kent for the 1st time last month got very clear water. I keep my salt in zip-lock bag & I always use dry tupperware to take out the salt. Pet Mart only selling Coralife now.
  16. Seachem De-Nitrate is small pieces of pepples or rock form. It's not a sponge & only works after a period of time when anaerobic bacteria grow in it. Not an immediate source to remove NO3. Also only good when yr NO3 is around 20ppm & it will helps lower it to maybe 10 or 5ppm.
