No problem introducing them together
It will be better that both are of the same size.
It is always better to 'let go' together so as to avoid the more 'establish' occupants from bullying them
-
I have 1 YT & 1 PT together before.
Should not ne a big problem is both are about the same size.
Plan to introduce both into my tank to control unwanted algae...
-
I bought one >1mth ago.
I use the same method as bro Borinz.
Always swim in the open.
A BIG eatter
Wish can buy a few more
Need to cut cost in this hard times...
-
Your hard DIY work has already make many reefers take notice on this frequentlly discuss lighting.
Currrent commercial 'units' either not good enough or too expensive(the good ones).
So your 'go further' will certainly make potential reefers to aproach you for possible lighting setups

Provide good support and advice from Derrick !

A very good powerhead withouit the heat
With its relative small size, its controls & high flowrate make it an ideal water circulation pump
-
I agree with Thomas Lim comment that once this coralline start to 'grow', at first it looks nice due to its purple colour shades.
But as it started to 'appear' on more and more rocks, be it live or dead rocks.
It also 'overrun' yr corals and 'cover-up' and kill the corals.
With that, I remove those pieces and scrap them away with a hard brush to limit its growth.
Need to do this at regular times to prevent its 'wild fire' growth...
-
I also have this problem on Regal tang(or Blue tang).
When its ~2~3" in size, no problem.
But as it grows, it started to nip at my LPS.
More feeding will not stop them fr nipping.
It especially likes zoas, brains & cinas.
Thats why these corals will not 'open' with this #@% nipping on it.
Only solution is to Remove them!!
They are very smart, not easy to catch/trap them.
What I did is to remove all the live rocks & catch the TROUBLE maker.

Besides buy/sell reef related stuff, its focus is shifting to property liao
Very nice home Earth.
Especially the open green belt view fr the windows

Thanks for yr reply Oceanus.
Yes, I've read 'your' products in the other web-site.
Also saw one demo unit at Iwarna last week.
Not very 'bright' in my opinion.
But with electricity $$ going up by 21% fr now, its an alternative lighting method that will cost less to run in the long run.
Its reliability wise needs to be access also.

Very nice home & nice tank Shootsimon!
Being there 'picking' up his Seo 1100 pumps ~1yrs ago.
Hope you find yr buyer very soon
As mention by Dr. Evil, not easy to find a buyer for both yr 5rm unit & yr belove tank...
Wa... you sell your new tank & home already Dr Evil!
Another upgrade??
-
With electricity cost per kilowatt going up ~21% and public transport cost going up starting 1 Oct 08,
there are reefers who downgrade to smaller tank size or even stop their belove hobby for now.
On LED lightings, this has being discuss on-and-off.
But current Solxxx & Lumixxx LED lightings initial cost is very high.
Looking at Ocean-light.com web site, with its lower cost compared to above two brands.
Will Oceanuslight give some insight into your LED products???

I tend to agree with SantaMonica's latest comment.
My overflow box compartment at the tank corner.
Its 4" square makes has ~8" wide of water overflowing.
This algea grows due to limited sunlight.
Whenever I clean it after ~2mths, its a think layer of algea.
This maybe why my NO3 is always ~20ppm.
So yr great ideal on maintaining a thin layer of algae helps in bringing down NO3 & PO4
-
Very good & creative ideal SantaMonica !!
Using nature(algae) to eliminate NO3 & PO4
With that, reefers has another option(good one) to maintain good water conditions for our corals.

Wa...
A round tank!
3ft is a good size to start
-
Can try Iwarna
-
Waaa
Jam packed tank
With lots of gem fishes, especially the special colour tangs
Fantastic tank!!
-
Yes, its a makeover
Corals & fish will be in after our master is happy with his aquascape.
Very tiring work
-
Hi there,
I use it too with live rocks.
As replica rocks shape is 'design' to look natural with careful selection on what you want on yr aquascape, its great to have them.
As it cost much $$ than live rocks, need to consider what you want before 'jumping in'
-
Hi Jamo,
Planning to add some nice pieces(bigger ones) of life rocks?
These will greatly improves yr aquascape
A nice tank needs a nice rock scape
-
Wa..
Yr yellow/orange zoas supper chaio man
-
Hi Archilles19,
Yr chiller is 0.5HP not 1.5HP
Good for 3~4ft tank
-
First tank looks better
The fish bowl looks crowded
'Problem' with nano tanks is space.
Need a lot of decipline to prevent over stocking
MP40 keep stopping

Either its worn out causing the rotor to 'jam'.
Need to replacement.
If yr model is old one like mine, need change the whole wet unit(new model).
Replacement cost is reasonable.
