  1. Does Nassarius eats coraline algae? I'll be getting it from Maxima and hope they don't.
  2. Could you estimate the flow rate it can handle? What brand is your pump? What is the actual flowrate in your setup? (2800 lph pump don't flow 2800 ltrs of water per hour when there's height/resistance) I intend to make this modification, so it will skim the surface. Comments?
  3. Do you make your's this low? (picture taken from internet)
  4. Ya, its costly. Worst still, it don't work! Should I say who recommended? He speaks english, chinese or hokkien? Thanks again!
  5. Hi Director, I do not know its brand, looks like a local made one. No idea how old, bought from a friend few years ago. Some background: 1) Have changed new motor & radiator. 2) Changed the copper coil. 3) Copper coil is inserted into rubber hose, water pump into rubber hose and out to aquarium. Unlike other chiller where water and coil are in chiller sump/box. 4) Copper leach when contact with sea water. No coating was done on copper coil. What I need is: 1) Change to titanium coil, or coat copper coil so it won't leach 2) Change to chiller sump/box is possible Thanks for the help
  6. Director, do you repair? I've one to repair too.
  7. I find 1 inch too small, resulting in slow flowrate. I've bought all piping to make 1 but no time to fix them together. It's 2 inches.
  8. Correction. I mean SE or DE is better? Read that DE requires UV glass. What about SE?
  9. I thought the web site says "c/w lamp"? meaning it comes with bulb right? probably < 5000k bulb, maybe can trade-in for higher k. Ya, is this suitable for marine tank? Which is better, HQI or DE? Anyone can advice?
  10. no, not refering to coralife. its other brands.
  11. I know some fresh water lfs selling below $10, sometimes as low as $6. But can't remember which lfs.

  13. OIC. I've been wondering why for long time. Thanks BarraCuda
  14. Pinktail SOLD Lyretail still available. Anyone??
  15. This is a lyretail. Picture from internet.
  16. This is the pink tail. no picture of wrasse
  17. Eheim 1250 should be 1250 lph. Maybe the margin is higher from Dynamax My outlet valve is close less than 1/4 (slightly > 45 degrees from open position). I think your PH is underated. For max efficiency, the valve should be fully open. I'm able to tune to that using eheim 1060 with an inlet valve. But wasting electricity.
  18. I think the other probe should go to ground (the blue wire on 3 pin socket) and not earth. Anyone can confirm?
  19. 3 inch pink tail - $8 3 1/2 inch lyretail wrasse - $6 PM me if interested. Self collect at Jurong.
  20. Just install for few days only. See lots of dry bubbles, and black dots. its a new empty tank with sand, don't think I'll get lots of black skimmate due to low bioload. I'm running my pump externally. Any pump will be as good if submerge in the sump.
  21. there's diy grounding probe here. http://ozreef.org/diy/grounding_probe.html Just wondering why there's a need for resistor and a diode. Any electrical expert here?
  22. Maxima, Suggest you could list who will get it on 12Oct, and who will have to wait for next batch. e.g. Number 1 to 20th - 12oct All others (> 20) - Next batch I think some of us are confused.
  23. I've tried using eheim 1060 (2250ltr/hr) and its very much over-rated! I've to install a ball valve and close about 3/4 (and the valve on the skimmer is fully open). Now I'm using eheim 1250 and it seem to be just nice.
