A mini beckett will be a venturi valve. Beckett injectors are basically 4 venturi valve stuck together
Tanzy, don't understand what you meant thought venturi valve is just a hose connected after or before the pump sticking out from the water to suck air. totally different from beckett.

whenever there's ich outbreak in my tank, I'll reduce salinity level (osmotic shock), and dose ParaGuard. Specifically reduce to 1.014. Success rate is 100%.
This is the most effective method that I have tried. IMO, no other medication can compete, including copper treatment. Trust me.
You have to act fast. To improve the immune system by feeding and by ensuring good water quality are merely preventive measure. The fish may die before it's able to battle itch the natural way.

As a beckett skimmer user, are you prepared to pay for a good external pressure-rated chemical pump to drive the beckett?
Saw many 2nd hand pumps at Sungei Road, maybe can get one at a bargain.
AT, is this the link you mentioned?

u would have to use a super powerful/expensive pump to run a beckett
how powerful the pump needs to be? Is eheim 1060 (2280ltr/hr) sufficient?
Check This Out (http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=944&hl=)So sad its not available locally, not even substitue. I've found a handful of internet dealer (usa) that carries it. Anyone can recommend? Ideally with low shipping fees (some dealer mark up alot on shipping)

Thought of incorporating this foam jet for my Macro Skimmer.

Anyone knows where to buy? I think similar one for fountain use will work. Can let me know any big gardening shop you ever come across?

If you are refering to the pig nose , they are now selling like $15 each for about 8cm at LFS, they are cute had 3 in my indoor pond
of course I'm not refering to pig nose. They're real sea turtle. Must ask the farm owner then he'll bring it out. They're very different from fresh water turtle. Its front legs are very very long, and very very short rear legs.

I saw it at old Fish Farm Road few years back. $150 or $250 each, can't remember. They kept it in a small container under the table. Very cute, about 4' with long front legs.

IMO, although our home socket is rated at 13A (i.e. 2990 watts), it does not mean they are safe to draw such high current.
Examples:-
1) Water heater and window air-con. These equipments are difinitely lower than 2990w, but hdb requires isolated 15A power point for them. If you hook them into a normal 13A point, you'll either have a trip or burning socket.
2) New Hdb flat has rule for pre-installed air-con point. If I'm not wrong, the compressor cannot be above 11-13A. But they're 15A point.
3) Electronic designer normally select components that is rated above the circuit requirement as far as cost allowed. Any electronic hobbist or student will know this.
I think I've read it somewhere. As a general guide, never exceed 70% of the rated power. i.e, don't exceed 2,093 watts (2990 * 70%) on a 13A point
One very important thing, use good quality multi-plug. Those cheap ones have very bad contacts which will create sparks and heat.
Just my 2 cents
