Read more, ask more, learn fast... that's the spirite MH not sutible for my open concept tank... too glaring without the hood I'm following Iwan Lasser's 1st house reef, he using pure T5 illumination & Tunze Stream for his Full SPS tank His present tank is even better also using pure T5 illumination 12 ATI tubes

Don't need MH for SPS...HOT5 also can if your tank height is less than 2ft

In reef central my main tank will be classify as Nano tank That's the biggest size I can go in my living hall

My planning 1- 3 months- mainly fish + some clams 4- 6 months - fish + more clams + some SPS 7 months onwards- full SPS with 20 clams

Hahaa.. bro u realy can read my mind 10 tubes of 3ft only use 390W but 4ft need 540W, that's one 150W MH different I'm using internal overflow for the 4 footer, so the actual usable lenght is only one meter and given the 2.5ft width, 10 tubes can cover more area. also no point shining into the overflow compartment Might go for 12 tubes if the width allow still planning

If u want to go for BB I think berlin method is what u should look up for. Inorder to limit the amount of organic material in the tank go for a super powerful skimmer & lots of live rocks strong & good circulation within the tank with help to suspend the debris and bring it down to the sump plus you can siphon them out when u spot them (at dead spot if any) Starboard is a brand name for marine stabilized plastic board, just like those kitchen cutting board It provide a nice white look and to protect the base glass from the live rock. I personally do not like BB.. I will go for SSB for my main tank for nature look
