    Hi well personally i never being to any lfs in jkt but i was given few streets name eg Jl Dr Muwardi Raya + JlMakaliwe Raya + Jl A M Sangaji + Jl Mahakam + Jl Sumenep(behing Mandarin Hotel)

    On the safe side check with hotel 1st before going.

    No harm telling the lfs that you need to pack them for long haul travel.

    Hi guys. Well i have seeing/heard feedback from friends that brought back fishes from overseas and i personnaly tried them (hong kong + taipei) and all i can say is dont bother.

    It will be too stressful for the fish + us because we got to go to the lfs to buy than most probably back to hotel than to airport before it goes into the plane. Once reach sin we got to collect our bag-pass custom-take taxi-home. Thru out all this process can you imagine the amount of movement in the bag where we put our fishes.

    Once reach home than we have to quarantine the fishes-de stress period and if we are lucky than they will survive.(provided you have the qurantine tank ready too)Dont forget we still have to unpack our own bag after tour of duty/holiday.

    I would rather pay abit more and buy the fishes in sin.

    But for corals is different story. Shall share my experience next time. Just got back from taipei and went to the street where most aquariums located-not so happening compare to hong kong.

    Hi are you using mh or ati?

    I noticed there isnt any ventilation gap on top of cabinet where u hse your light=hot air trap inside=chiller kicking in often.

    If you can recall my tank design its almost the same as yours but i added ventilation hole. Recently Ah Do added one more exhaust fan inside to expell out the hot air. Maybe u want to discuss this issue with Steve.

    Welcome back bro. Chiller inside cabinet will cause hot air trap inside unless u install exhaust fan2blow it out.(sauna in tv area) Even though artica is quiet+good brand the amount of hot air blown out can be scary.

    Nice colour cabinet. Looking fwd for more update.

    Hi, check out member tread by this guy call southpaw23. Personally find the extra he put in for his sump is excellent. His sump + all equipments sat inside a tray. If got leakage it will go onto tray instead of hse. One of the common disaster in this hobby is water overflow out from sump-for whatever reason..

    If i ever build new tank ill surely use this concept. Also at the end of the day the type of sump design purely depends on what you intend to put inside but of course the bigger the better.

    I have read extensively on foreign internet forums on products such as Ultralife Slime Remover, etc. All indications from experts are that chemicals are a big no-no. Reefers are on both sides of the divide. You are the first local reefer I know who is endorsing this product. A couple of questions, if you don't mind. When did you use the product? There are no adverse effects on your sps & lps corals so far? Your system is still functioning well? Does the nuisance algae simply died off or disappeared after you use the chemicals? If so, maybe I should reconsider these products.

    Hi hi. well everything in my tank survived after i dose the redslime algae,including my lobster+snails+anemone. What i did was only removed the carbon from my sump and also stop fr+skimmer running for awhile. I also reduced feeding. After about 1week++ can slowly see the result as the redslime slowly disappear.i do not have expensive or delicate corals at that time. Now my tank is only fowlr.

    After that i did abo30% h20 chg. if i can remember correctly i think i dozed 2bottles since my tank is 6fts+4fts sump. Colour of h20 changed to yellow. I was quite worries initially but lucky all works well. In fact after the slime algae were gone can see coraline algae started growing but they are not link i think. I think the instruction also stated safe for corals. I decided to use this product after janet fr am recommended and told me is very effective and the most important is easy to use.

    tks for the info as i also have this problem for my 4ft before but it just fowlr so i don't borther bout it but this time round is my another tank 3ft all zoo so afraid it over run it. now everyday have to clean it very tired lol so need a fast control but in another project going to use back algea srcubber to control it using warm white LEDs and will be seal up by glass

    hi.i had this problem b4 and after using the redslime remover fr aquamarin, all problem solved. easy to use. only need to remove carbon from tank. can use on reef and fowlr tank. just ask janet for this product and she will explain to you more on the usage. good luck.

    PO4 media vs FOWLR

    Dear all,

    Just want to find out how many reefer wit fowlr tank uses:

    1) po4 media wit fr

    or

    2)po4 media without fr

    or

    3)never use po4 media

    I understand that using po4 media wit fr is the best but wonder izit die die must use items in fowlr? Currently im using sorb4 in twin fr(6fts fowlr + 4fts sump).Thought of removing all those(fr) and just dump the po4 media in sump overflow. Hate the idea of chgi the media in fr cos very troublesome.

    I remember a case of a reefer here who went on an overseas trip and left the feeding to an automatic feeder. The feeder stopped working after a day, and when he came back about 5 days later, his LS were still swimming about healthily and did not seem to be interested in the food that he immediately fed.

    Puzzled, he posted his experience on the forum. Experts had concluded that his tank had reached equilibrium, which means that all LS in the tank were able to self sustain itself, without the need for human 'intervention'.

    hi. well it happened to me once too where my low cost auto feeder simply stop and i suspect my fishes went foodless for 6-7days.

    basically i only noticed their body became sunken in=can see their bones..few got torn fins..

    i guessed they managed to survived due to b4 i left sin i usually gives them a feast hahaha...

    Hi there. Well i was told there is a street in taipei that has lfs which is similiar to the one in hkg but not so happening compare to hkg. Marine stuff quite limited. Personally never being there but might chk the palce out when in tpe. The street name is min quan dong lu near min quan da qiao.

    Do give some feed back for those that being to that street ok. Thx.

    Lr hv being in my tank for almost 11/2 and i hv being using the dazs termometer+ph reader almost 1yr++.

    Reason why selling is i needed more space fr fishes in tank and as for the dazs prefer to use non electrical equipment to test h20.

    Pls give me your offer and i need to clear all items if possible by fri.
