Hmm, guess they're not suitable in that case, the LFS was saying that they should be kept in a tank withour rocks if possible as they will only swim in one direction, cant's reverse, thus if got rocks, they may get lodged in between. Guess I will stick to my FOWLR then, thanks for the replies

Hi, i'm using the 2011 but not very effective, thought of upgrading. Is your 2014 safe for using out of sump? The 2011 i have currently is not exactly watertight and water can be found at the joints. Dunt want to risk my wooden floor. Also, can the dymax pump be used out of water? Thanks

I'm using the 820 for my 2ft cube, not an ovekill IMO, if you think it's too strong, direct the current against a rock surface, that should break the flow. I'd recommend the 820, you know how the flow weakens over time.

Hi all, I'm looking to get a chiller for my 2 ft cube. Has anyone placed the chiller outside the room (approx 10 - 15ft from the tank?) Will this reduce the efficiency of the chiller? Is the CL280 sufficient for my 60 gallon tank? Or should I just get a larger 2nd hand one? Thanks for the advice
