  1. Tank is still in the process of cycling with daily dosage of Continuum Bacter Gen- M(Nitryfing bacteria) and Bacter Gen- M(Denitrifying bacteria). In addition, fixed up my VEGA today and absolutely loving the effect.

  2. no wonder my bandit refuse to eat mysis after first week

    thanks for sharing

Nv feed mysis to your fishes unless possbile. I notice that the frozen mysis we get causes many case of bloated stomache and internal issue to our marine fishes. One of the main reason I suspect is the handling and logistic which the mysis may end up defrosting and refreezing in different locations before arriving at our house.

  3. Hi Jamie,

Thanks for sharing your though on the feeding . I had experience angel fish suffering from bloated stomach feeding mainly only on mysis shrimp which might be the reason of too much protein in their diet which you mention.

Which is also why i try to give a more balance diet of protein food in the morning ( Mysis, scollap , Prawn meat ) and afternoon or night ( solely pallets or flakes ) and supper ( seaweed ) twice a week so as not to depend solely on frozen food.

unfortunately, we don't seem to find frozen sponge base food selling here which is good for their diets :(

There is a frozen sponge & algae food formulated for angels from "Ocean Nutrition" and some LFS carry this product. Have tried but not all angels love it.

  4. Today was the final stage of the tank setup. A FW test, followed by a SW introduction was done. Critcal equipments such as chiller, and return pump were connected. Upon turning on the Fluval Sea, I can that this pump is dead silent, however after playing around with it for awhile, I can say that this pump can be rather prone to air lock if the intake in not done properly. After which, I went down to Iwarna to get additonal few pieces of live rocks and finalise my scaping. Reef systems will still come down to my place for last time to finalise the nitty gritty of whats left in the piping. Live bacteria solution from Continum is also added in hope to speed up cycling process.

  5. Could it be the paly that was slightly above water surface.

Pity, as those in the tub were very nice specimens. :cry2:

Yes bro, a shame, I even lost the Dracula u found.:cry::cry::cry:

The Palys are still ok so I am thinking the trochus as they dun seem to do as well as compared to the ones in my other tub or pail.

  6. sad to hear that bro...if u r in the west and need a tank to hold ur stuff do pm me. my tank is pretty much empty still except for some zoas and sps frag + 3 tiny fishes lol

Thanks for the offer bro, appreciate it! No issue, as I did not hold onto too much inverts just a pretty small tub of it.

  7. Bad news, came home today and saw one of my Toyogo tub's water turning cloudy. Upon closer inspection, apparently some inverts (suspect is my trochus snail) died and spark a spike in nutrient in the tub causing total death in my trochus snails population for that tub together with rics and some zoas . Did a 70% water change as the smell is starting to emit. Starting to miss my tank maker to complete the rest of the pipings and get the tank running. Ironically, the tub with chiler running gave problem while the remaining though without much inverts without chiller are still doing fine :P.

  8. amazing and very neat setup

    how big is the sump??

    cheers jack

Thanks bro, will be messier when all the piping work are up.:ph34r::ph34r:

Sump I did not measure but should be about 2/1/2 feet in length. Cater more space for the 2 return pumps, in addition, a 25L reservoir tank will also be needed to be place in the sump.

  9. Nice sump design. Many compartments for various purpose! Share with us how u going to organise ur sump?

Gonna keep it simple for sump, basically just FR and skimmer. The water that exit the skimmer compartment (front chamber) will fall directly into another compartment which I will put carbon and Ultralift media.

  10. great looking tank! you'll be really happy that its so easy to touch any part of your tank and once you turn off your pumps, you'll get a good top down view.

I think so too, putting corals and maintenance will be easier. Catching fish out will be much easier as well too

  11. Wah steam. Please let us know the noise/ heat/ head, your opinion ok? I spied GF+ pipping also haha.

    Bro kkk121,

The motor block of Red Dragon and ATB pumps are made by Askoll. This Hagen Fluval one looks like a budget version of those overpriced godly quality pumps.

Bro, will keep you updated on this pump, Yes, Reef Systems uses mainly GF piping :) Love their valves!

  12. Below are the pictures of the Fluval Sea SP4 pump. From the initial look, the pump is quite solidly build and yes it is a ASKOLL pump. I have not run it yet but once I run it, will give a update on its performance, noise and heat.

  13. Tank arrive and it slightly bigger than I expected. Not sure with a big tank in a small house and also it comes with slight blip as tank maker unintentionally forgotten about my request for crystal front but the rest are all fine.

The piping in the overflow box are siliconed and left to dry while in a few days the maker will come over to my place again to FW leak test and also to fix up the remaining of the pipings as well as my special Tee-off request.

Finally, they will come again to top up sea- water to kick start the cycling. I will also have to transfer the inverts over earlier than expected as currently they are all in my toyogo box.

  14. Please put up pictures of your flow system this weekend, I need to be taught from sifu(s) like yourself.

Will update my flow system but am no sifu here. Pretty nuts when comes to piping and system :blush::blush: , usually is bro Gouldian who gave me the advice.
