  1. The reading on my Fox Temperature Controller is 26.9 degrees (probe in main tank). The chiller is set to chill to 27 degree, but usually shows 28 on the display.

I guess the difference may be due to the equipment in the sump.

I've reduce the flow rate. Seems better. Will carry on to monitor.

No cost involve so no harm trying :D . Hope to switch to a better chiller in the future but budget constraint plus 'CEO' approval not easy to get nowadays...

  2. Dunno leh...but it think i'll play around with the flow rate first.

Maybe try around 1500-1800L/H (based on Nemofish advise).

Will let you guys know how it goes...

Any other advice? Extrema quite expensive so currently still dun want to consider changing the pump.

  3. I think Cedric was saying that I have a hose grip in the water. The stuff will rust if I don't take it out...

Tineng : The best thing is that I haven't even on my lights yet.. I'm still cycling. Of course I don't need to run the chiller now. But I wanted to test all my equipment prior to adding any LS. So the chiller cuts in often even w/o my MH lights on. But it goes off very quickly too. I'm going to have 2x250W MH, with fan to act as additional cooler.

Nemofish : I'm using a Ehiem 1262 as my return pump. I placed the return hose from the chiller just next to the pump so that the chilled water will be immediately fed back to the main tank I'll try reducing the flow rate. Maybe that will help. Thanks.

  4. Thanks Cedric, I just managed to get it wired up correctly with the help of someone more experienced. Tested and it was ok..

I agree that with you that we should be careful while doing electrical stuff.

Hmmm.. I definitely will be reading up more...

    :thanks::thanks:

    Appreciate all your help bros...

  5. Hi bros.. I have an issue with my Resun CL650 chiller.

Seems that it cuts in too often. Sometimes about every 10 mins and runs for 5 mins.

    Details on the configuration:

    1. Pump used is Atman 104, 2000L/H (recommended is btw 900L/h to 2400 L/H)

    2. Temperature set at 27-29. Chiller will cut in when temp is 29.

Attached is the pics of the connection to my chiller. Basically it input from and output to my sump, just different compartment. Any advise ??

  6. Hi Bros,

Just tried to connect up my FOX controller just now.

As advised, I connected my device to port 9 and 10. But when the Output 'On' lights comes on, still no power goes to my device. Any idea? Actually I tried all ports, still can't.

Another question. Let say I want to have the following settings :

    1. When Temp hits 30, power is cut off.

    2. When Temp drops below 30, power will return after 5 mins.

How do I set this on the controller? I understand that there're 4 settings. I can only make out the following:

    1. TYP (Type) = C

    2. DLT (Time Delay) = 5 mins

How to set the rest? What's DIF (Temp deviation) and COR (Correction of Temp)?

    Pls advise.. :thanks::thanks:

  7. Thanks bros for your help. :thanks::thanks:

So I do not need to connect the earth wire to the device? How to I ground my MH lights?

    As for my second question,

Another question. I'm thinking of using it to control my 2x250W MH. But they are now on separated 3 pin plugs. What's the best way to get both of them controlled by the FOX Controller?

Can I use a multi-point extension and insert the controller on the power cable going to the wall socket? Will it be dangerous? I will be able to control both my plugs using 1 FOX controller that way.

    Pls advise. Thanks

  8. I just bought a Fox Temperature Controller. But the instructions not very clear.

Anyone can show a pic on how to connect the thing up?

Another question. I'm thinking of using it to control my 2x250W MH. But they are now on separated 3 pin plugs. What's the best way to get both of them controlled by the FOX Controller? I'm a electronic dummy :D

Thanks in advance for your help. :thanks::thanks:

  9. Hi,

I've been using Weipro 2014 skimmer with a Atman II (104) 2000l/H pump.

It seems that the pump is not powerful enough so I switch to a Atman II (105) 3000L/H pump. The skimmer then became very noisy. I run the new pump separately on its own and it just give a humming sound.

So I'm quite sure the noise comes from the skimmer. Anyone encounter this before? Can help? Thanks in advance...
