  1. ok... will look thru the threads..

if i were to ever get another tank in the near future,

    i'll try a SH tank...

and i'll turn to u for advice and inspiration.. hahaha.. :eyebrow:

no problemo bro... can help u out too since u at bishan too..... am planning for a 4 ft Reidi tank after CNY

  2.:bow::bow: u guys the sifu in marines... hahaha

a lot of effort gotta put in bro, once they train to frozens feeding from bowl, u can monitor how much they can eat, and they just hang around the bowl till they think they full. :eyebrow: search under "frozen training" under this sub-forum... u find some threads useful... HTH

bro lorenzo..... as long as the sh eating mysis can liao, dun really have to be in bowl.... a frozen eating SH is a GOOD SH!

white ones? dunhave wor... maybe the lighting ba.... :paiseh:

  3. the coronet like kuda, body on the spikey side........ imo it should be a red kuda from other waters.... last time was offer the same kind of horses by some lfs..... looks very closely like reidi, but all features like kuda other than e colours. correct me if i'm wrong. :paiseh:

Sorry, i'm not sure also, can u help to ID for me?

  4. its always nice to see clams expand their mantle to the max..

oh ya.. would like to ask you,

for your previous SH tank, did u use any wavemaker?

understand too strong current would stress the seahorse, but too little flow for the tank, would it be ok?

yea.. like many of the bros here mentioned, lighting is the most important factor for keeping clams...

    clown goby doing great!

feeding on all the left over mysis whenever i feed my fishes on alternate days (:

dont think it'll ever consume pellets,

the size of one pellet is about more than half the size of his face! haha...

my tank is specially made to sh's requirements...... so actually very very slow flow , u notice i place all my clams up high high , as i scared tje sh might accidently disturb the clams with their tail , which will make the clams shut tight , hurting the sh. maybe u direct the wave maker to wall of tank , then Lrs which will greatly reduce the flow rate.

  5. i know MH is a better choice,

but not feasible to have one at my place..

placed the clam at quite a high area in my tank near to my T5...

it was doing fine for about a month until i came back from my trip after one week...

wow... very impressed by your seahorse/clam tank..

i've only got one K1 wavemaker, but i direct it down towards an area of deadspot..

i hope the seahorse wont be affected too mch...

according to the seller its trained to feed on frozen mysis..

currently still in my QT, wont release him till i really see him feed...

    thanks..

i learn from every mistake i've done..

so will you be getting another clam?

they say T5 can keep clams.... i kiasu.... at first used T5 only for my sh tank.... see the clams like doing good.... later got MH.. add on.... u can really see the BIG difference when the clams expand their mantle to the max to capture the "sun"..... after that... i only used MH 150watts for my clams... but the clams are also place as close to water surface as possible to max their sun tanning. :eyebrow: still love clams.... but the MH are are the things holding me back now :paiseh:

  6. clam officially RIP :cry2:

shall look around for another clam..

maybe this time, a bigger one...

clams need Mh imo..... dun really need to target feed... but really need strong intensity lights! was reading trough ur tank post.... the wave maker might not be good for the Sh..... is he already train to frozens? scatter? or food bowl train? got provide hitches for him?

can read through my past tank thread for Sh... got clams too.. SH tank

  7. Nice. The light looks a little bluish too? I have tried this bulb holder but my bulb is too heavy for it. :cry2:

hehehe i use the hoder like workshop lights..... currently no plans to do anything except waiting for my sh to labour..... once i free maybe will do a stand over my tank with holder using this bulb... but kinda ex wor... $60.... but brighter than the 28leds dymax clip-on led set... the bulb light be 10k while the dymax like 14 k colour....

  8. hey guys found this led bulb while buying stuff at kelantan lane..... it's 5 watt led bulb.... just srew on to light holder can use liao..... nut dunnoe suitable for reef tanks not..... very bright but very "spot" areas. like 1ft by 1ft area cover.... know nuts about led diy.... saw this so try... my tank tank only fish... no problemo i guess

what st u at bro? they eating frozen mysis! hehehe

Well done. Hope you can resist any urge to add anything which might introduce aiptasia or hydroids. The bane of young seahorses..

am am really really stopping myself to go lfs...... hiaz.... the urge is strong! hahahhaa.... but still can maintain... buying essential stuffs for my sh oreadi spent alot..... that stop me from getting other stuff hehehhe
