    Decom-ed Tank

    Tank torn down already; fishes sold, liverocks given away free, main equipment sold; selling off the rest of the equipment:

    Recommended for beginners who hasn't bought any equipment yet, or students on low budget who are unsure of committing lotsa money yet. :peace:

    1) 2 feet FL 4Tube Lamp (2White 2 Blue; 2 switches to alternate the colors) Bought at S$70, going @ S$30

    2) AQUAMEDIC AntiPHOS (Anti-Phosphate) 1/2 pkt. Bought at S$45, going @ S$5

    3) Surface skimmer (bought but never used) bought at $13, going @ S$5.

    4) 1 feet glass tank @ S$10 (Good for coral / mushroom frag nursery)

    5) Mini FL Lamp (White) that goes perfect with the 1 feet tank @$5

    6) 2 feet tank (dirty) FREE.

    (For a S$10 fee, I can deliver it to your place, but you have to view the tank first)

    7) Additives (one Calcium and one Iodine) both half bottle left, 2 bottles FREE with

    purchase of any of the above.

    8) Half packet of SALT (good quality, still soft after opened for months) @ FREE with purchase of any of the above.

    Sorry guys,

    In addition to the above, I need to inform you guys that my tank is nothing to be proud of.

    Lack of time in maintenance has deteriorated my tank. My equipment are dirty amid still doing its job. Once the fishes are sold, then I will dismantle, clean and dry my equipment. :)

    My skimmer is a Weipro SA-2011 (I still have the box).

    My liverocks are covered with a layer hair-algae, so I do not want to charge you any $ for them (one of the larger piece of liverock has a piece of hairy-mushroom attached to it; it was from my tonga branch of hairy-mushrooms when they porprogated themselves..

    Collection place is at my place in Tampines Street 22. Nearest MRT stations are Simei and Tampines (its right in the middle of these 2 stations). :pinch:

    Dear ALL,

    Thanks for the overwhelming response. I got like over 30 private messages over yesterday afternoon. :shock:

    I forgot to add-in another equipment for grabs:

    1 x FL (2feet) tank-light (bought at $70) going @ S$30.

    Interesting parties in order of "message sent-first" are:

    VanDream / Tansk / lorba / marble / babareef / kominato / Mr CRABS / borinz / loster / kelstorm / dominik / jem / limsc / adrianlau .... to list a few...

    I dunno how to deal with this, so I guess I will tackle each private message one-by-one. :peace:

    Priority goes to interested parties who wants to buy all the fishes at one go. My main concern is my fishes.

    My tank is a mere 2-feet tank which I have kept under minimum equipment and minimum maintenance. Only thing I have confidence in is that the water used goes through good filtration. Surprisingly the fishes are so hardy. :lol:

    I am shutting down my tank due to lack of time to maintain. :paiseh:

    Shutting down my tank 2 year old tank.

    Fishes go first, then corals, then live rocks, then equipments.

    All beginner-level items (The pros no need to waste time here).

    Fishes diet of Mysis / Brine / Cyclopeeze / Seaweed

    1 x True Percula Clown (3" long) @ S$10

    1 x Blue Tang (3" long) @ S$15

    1 x Black Sabae Clown (2" long) @ S$8

    1 x Yellow Clown Goby (1.5" long) @ S$5

    Corals

    1 x Tonga branch of Hairy Mushroom (approx. 8 mushrooms) @ S$10

    2 X liverocks with attached Purple Mushrooms @ FREE with any coral purchase

    1 x liverock with attached suncorals (4 heads) @ FREE with any coral purchase

    Live Rocks

    Free after the above are cleared. These live rocks are very mature ones. Good stuff.

    Is Stainless Steel stand really not prone to rust?

    A bit of general knowledge to share as well....

    For Stainless steel, there are different grades:

    the more common grades are the [304] grades,

    better ones would be [630] grade; the best would be [316L] grade.

    If you wanna check if your stainless steel product will rust anot, just use a Magnet to test. If it sticks, it implys that there are existence of [iron], which will rust.

    Wood still the best. then again, apply a couple of layers of Nippon water proof paint over would be a wise choice to ensure long lasting beauty...

    Reason for selling: too big for my 2-footer. Wants to give it a bigger home.

    Diet: Frozen mysis and brine, cyclopeeze, seaweed. :yeah:

    Frequency of feeding: Once daily

    Character: Willing to eat food off ur fingers/chopsticks, will ^5 u with its tail if u place ur hand in the water for too long. :yeah:

    Anemone death in captivity

    Hi guys,

    I just got an anemone (Bubble tip), so i got some questions to ask.

    Q1: By "stinging", does Bubble tip anemone sting human hands as well?

    Q2: How do I know if I have been stung? (does the pain comes immediately or just numbness?)

    Q3: What are signs that the anemone is dying? e.g. shrunk? change color? does not stick to rock?

    any pointers for a beginner like me? thanks!

    I met with some unexpected event and I am unable to go to Bali.

    -) Singapore Airlines Flight; Economy Class

    -) For Off-peak period only; if peak period (e.g. Dec holidays) have to pay travel agency a little peak period surcharge.

    -) Booking 2 tickets from Singapore Airlines website amounts to approx $540 (excluding airport tax).

    Now letting go of these 2 tickets at a only $400 for SQ flight!

    Hi guys,

    I won 2 free air tickets to fly to Bali in a lucky draw. :lol:

    Any bros / sis out there been there before can give advice? :thanks:

    Preferably the following info and advice:

    1) Any travel agencies in Singapore that can help plan entire package?

    2) Any place to avoid (e.g. Last Bali bombing at Kuta) ?

    3) Which hotel to stay? Want a nice one, dun wan budgeted hotel.

    4) was looking at pampering my partner with spa package + good hotel stay.

    5) hopefully got coastal areas that can ta-bao livestock back... lol :paiseh:

    Any tips / advice / directions appreciated. thanks in advance!

    hmmm, bro muar chee, ur statement raise further questions...

    1) i think elune didnt say anything, he merely copied a quote from that parkingidiot blog and pasted it here... no words said. rite?

    it has been verified that the Police officers had not done any wrong

    2) Verified by whom?

    the officers were attending to an urgent case. The parking was made after checking that all the lots including reserved lots are completely taken up and with the permission of the carpark management did the officers parked the car there with hazard lights on.

    3) I park at Capitol Centre twice weekly for nite classes, so I am familiar with the carpark. If it were an urgent case, they would just have park outside along the road. No TP will book police cars. If it was urgent, why would they still have the time to enter the carpark, press the coin from the machine to raise the gantry, drive around the entire carpark to ascertain all lots are taken (including upstairs? there are more lots upstairs ya know?) , then check with the carpark management for permission to park? in addition, the "management" is never around, only 2 rotating security guards and an auntie. Hazard lights on? Where? the so-called "hazard" light on the left side of the car seems to be made by reflection from the camera flash. If they were on official duty, they wun have park inside this carpark, cuz exiting would require cash-payment, no cashcard.

    4) Speaking from familiarity of this carpark, there was no carpark attendent BOOTH. This is a semi automated carpark (plastic-coin system). In fact, there is an office at the carpark (for the security and the auntie), but its like 20-30 metres away, at the other end of this disabled lot where the office has totally no view of this lot.
