  7. Hi fellow reefers: Just would like to share with you a newly launch wave maker from the US. It's call Vortex. Apparently, outlook does resemble a Tunze from Germany slightly. But operation and performance wise is somehow different. Quite a handsome pump. Reefers out there who is always on the go searching for gadgets. Mr "You know who" might be listening Can find out more here Photograph courtesy of ecotechmarine.
  8. Hi Jervis: Yes, it will as this is one of the issue face by users. However, it really depend on how much is the flow rate to this outlet and what is the depth from the water surface.
  9. Hi Jervis: If you do happen to be the LFS again. Maybe you could take a look at the air-intake guage? Read from the German forum listed here (earlier thread) that due to the new propeller wheel, foreign deposit could form hence reducing the amount of air-intake. The function of the guage there is also to indicate that the propeller need cleaning when air input drops. Just don't know how soon maintainance is needed compare to traditional needle wheel. Thanks.
  10. Hi Jervis: When you were teasing us with the "parts" shots earlier:D . It does resemble the "Bubble King" from Royal Exclusive. From what I know and read, this unit retail about 500 euros in Germany (about 1/3 the price of the smallest Bubble King skimmer). As all know, the factor that enable the Bubble King to kick the crap out of the water is the work horse of the skimmer - The Red Dragon pump. Hence, probably ATI is trying to cater to the market to make it more affortable with this "lookalike" without the heafty price to pay for a Bubble King. Another thing to note is also it's propeller. Something really different use to produce the micro bubble. It could be a new "weapon" use to counter the cons of not running a Red Dragon pump. Definately a new exciting piece of equipment in the already confusing skimmer market. Since it's 1/3 price less of the Bubble King, anticipate that it might have the 1/3 performance of the presuccesor Again, never try, dunno. Take one and fire, and all will know My 2 cent.
