  1. Different flowrate for FR and Skimmer? i'm using 1000l/h for my skimmer and 800l/h for my FR... if i were to get the 2000l/h and use a split, it would be jusssssst nice... correct me if i'm wrong...
  2. cool... anyway, what's the recommended flowrate through the FR? i'm running Skimz FM100 (old model)
  3. actually i was thinking of putting the whole carbon bag into the top of the FR because the sorb4 does not go that high... any when its time to take out the carbon, just remove it with maybe alittle sorb4 remains on it...
  4. by the way, anyone knows where to get the cheapest aquabee pump in sg?
  5. reasons why i want to reduce... 1) minimise power consumption 2) minimise heat produced from excess wattage 3) tidy up my already small sump 4) not so much of noise level but its a factor too...
  6. would it be ok for the carbon to to placed in the FR with the sorb4? any issues?
  7. i doubt most ppl bother to take out the return pump to wash... unless something happens... well, for me, i just empty the cup of the skimmer whenever i see it filling up... i only used the vinegar trick once on a used wave maker, trust me its really effective!
  8. Hello Anyone used ehiem and aquabee pumps before? which is quieter? i'm looking for a pump - to feed my Skimmer (Deltec AFP 600) and my FR (Skimz FM100) together, looking at maybe 2000L/H - return pump 2x2x2ft tank, est 260 litres of water, looking at +- 3500L/H Please feel free to comment... or even recommend different brands... Thanks!
  9. go for N30 Tanks... they are good but price is alittle on the high side.... you pay for what you get... do a search for their website...
  10. I'm not sure if the hole is big enough to squeeze a 1"... But I'll take note! Thanks for the advise!
  11. I'm using arctica chiller 1/5 HP with flowrate of up to 4800l/h... Maybe get a ehiem with 4000+ flow... I'm trying to minimise the heat produced by the pumps and also tidy up the wires... Well if it's not recommended, then better not la!
  12. Hello! I've got a 2ft cube and a chiller... i intend to use only 1 return pump from the sump to the chiller back into the tank... Current setup, i've got a ehiem 1250 (from sump to chiller back to sump) and a 1262 (from sump to tank) is it better to reduce 1 pump and getting a more powerful one to do both jobs? if recommended, what size should i use? 4000 L/H? many thanks!
  13. any idea if the glass shop beside GO makes crystal glass tanks?
  14. i've seen the display tanks at most marine fish shop who uses clear silicon, usually the sides are full of aglae and makes it very ugly... unlike black silicon where you can't see it... but if use black silicon, it'll defeat the purpose of using crystal glass... i'm still undecided... haha
  15. Hello! Just wondering if I were to custom a new tank with crystal glass using clear silicon, will I be able to clean off the algae? Or is black silicon recommended?
  16. Hi guys, i would prefer to have a totally new setup... i really like those at AM with the damper system for the hood... of course i'll not be looking at such size, only a 3x2x2... well i'm looking at spending about 2k for a really basic setup... for a start LR and fishes and maybe afew easy corals? we will talk about equipments later, but for now i need to find a tank maker and a cabinet... tank 3x2x2(26inch) front 3 pc crystal, and a cabinet plus hood = $2000 can? thanks for all your replies!
  17. Hello! i just got poisoned to convert my planted to Marine, but i'm told i can't use my current setup (canister and no overflow). Therefore i'm looking to buang this whole setup and buy a proper 3ft tank with cabinet, hood, sump, etc... (not sure what i need though) So, where or who is good to look for when getting a new setup? is crystal glass for the front expensive? hee hee, looks very nice! thanks in advance!
