    Sorry bro, dun mind i hijack your thread... i am also looking for DI resin as well (any seller may offer to bro limpc first) :rolleyes:

    Heard some bros are buying the resin seperate... I post in the DIY thread but no response so far...

    Will appreciate any bros can provide some info on supplier...

    I have a Apures DI unit. Normally, i go to Lfs for change. Anyone knows where can i buy the resin and change myself? Also, would appreciate if bros can provide some info on dismantling the DI unit when changing....

    Hi bros, have a squamosa (sorry if mis-spell) clam Fs. Bought from bro fishrock some time back. Very healthy. Jus clearing space.. its about 6-7 inches. $40.. very cheap.. Collection in cck. Will throw in orange digitata frags, and other stuffs if possible.. :thanks:

    Alternative to low PO4

    Think DI is still a better choice cos:

    1) removes other unwanted impurities as well. not only PO4.

    2) cheaper in long run.

    3) More convinient.

    FeSO4 on the other hand is more to treat the used Saltwater

    just came back from reservist last week. received a few PMs abt the result of using FeSo4....

    The process seems very easy. normally I premix nsw in my 2 ft spare tank for my 4ftx1.5x1.5. This time I retain the usw in a bbq styrofoam ice box. When my 2ft spare tank emptys, I transfer the usw back to the 2ft tank... I dissolve abt 3-5ml of the FESO4 the in DI water and pour into the tank of usw... in 3-5mins... vou la... brownish seawater... seems like wrought iron dust in water liao.... run for another hour, I put filter floss in my hangon filter and let it run for the rest of the day... probably have to rinse my floss once more as I am using recycled floss after main tank use... The usw turns clear as what the bros have mentioned earlier in the post.... very easy... 1kg can use for years man... based on my feel, the processed usw seems very low in PO4... bearing in mind my 4x1.5x1.5 has a 6 inch DSB with mangroves, only no skimmer. I noticed becoz my brown algae on tank glass takes a longer time to grow... I have heavy lps stocking, 12 anthiars, 1 4 inches batik wrasse, medium size YT, BT, convict tang, and 5 inch PBT, 1 damsle, 1 coral beauty. feeding is 4x pellets on timer... regular use of live pyhto, black powder...

    so my PO4 should rise very fast... if rowa no change... previously I use 1/2 kg monthly.. jus changed mine to 250g only for this month....

    umm.. didnt have a way to test the result becoz I dun have a accurate PO4 testkit.... but bro reefzzz offer to test my water this weekend with his deltec testkit...... will update test result on the processed water....

    Reduce Phosphate with FeSO4

    Hi Bros, was very keen on Bro Naka's PO4 filtration method. My tank is skimmerless with fully functional DSB sandbed. NO3 is <10ppm with heavy feeding (>5x daily) and lps. More feeding of frozen Arti pods and frozen cyctofreeze given by bro thomaslim. Thus my Rowa seems to exhaust very fast. 0.5 kg rowa for abt 2-4 weeks. After that the diatom blooms will be active.

    Jus gotten a bottle of 1 kg for $40 bucks yesterday. The lady at the shop is Mary. Another guy called me from the shop asking me where do I get his no and what I do with the FeSO4. Told him our purpose. Hopefully he give us reefers a better price in future. Will be trying the FeSO4 the weekend most probably. Where to get for $20 (bro naka's price) next time?

    hi bros, looking for a T5 fixtures for my 4 ft setup. i am using a solite 4x54w ( 1 year old) . i like to upgrade to the following:

    1) 6x54w from DE or equivalent.

    2) 2x150w mh pendant ( DE or equivalent )

    Do not mind to trade my existing fixture with top-up to prospective seller. Did not wish to but an additional 2x54w to add to my 4x54w as my tank is 4x1.5x1.5. So there isnt much space for to put 2 seperate light fixtures over a 1.5ft space. Plus clearance for my hand to put in the tank for maintenence. Thot I can save space if its 6 tubes in one housing.

    I will be out of town from Mon till wed this coming week.
