    I thk by default only the living room point will be activated. . You can request them to activate all the cable points in the house. This is what i have done when i took the cable TV service. Activated all the three points in my prev rented house(sengkang).

    Yup the upload speed is capped at 128 kilo bits per second. But in my opinion no one can match maxonline download speed. I have used signet and starhub ADSL but they are no where near maxonline.

    If uploading or for playing online games, i thk signet will be better. The debate between ADSL and Cable goes on. Its up to us to decide which one will suit us. Each has there own pros and cons.

    Before signing just visit both shops(starhub & signet) and try the demo system and then decide which one suit you.

    Since when did Starhub has ADSL? heheheheh...

    Depends on your needs lah..like what Vinoth has mentioned, if u r gonna used it for online gaming..suggest u go for ADSL else if only for downloading, Cable will be a better option.

    Do some readups, some using Cable has complained thier speed to be laggy n slow even when comes to surfing while some claimed that they dun faced such problems..

    Yapz, if used your account will be banned for life!! :shock:

    Anyway, there is some mod which can be switched off, but it has not been proven if you still get banned even with the mod off.

    Your account don't get banned, its your XBOX that is banned.

    BTW, from what I know the $88 dollars will include a 12-month subscription of the LIVE service. Anyone has any idea how much will it cost for subscription after the 1 year period?

    heheheheh..thats why the credit card number is needed in the 1st place when you tried to activate your LIVE session...btw becareful of what you download cos some of the premium downloads are chargeable though the amount is quite small.

    IME,

    ADSL Wireless Router includes a firewall that blocks certain IP ports coming in from the internet. You may need configure your Router firewall to allow the specific port to comes in or assign an IP that is in the DMZ.

    You are talking about Port forwarding, in this case, doesn't really needs to. Besides, I think the problem he is having is failure to get the xbox to detect the Linksys Wireless adaptor....not on the inbound traffic from external interface to the internal interface...

    *Btw..I ran Xbox,PS2 & Gamecube online via my router & firewall no problem without having to do any port forwarding.

    Choice now for router is Netgear, SMC or Linksys. Which one is better. Seems like alot of ppl using Netgear

    Like wat I mentioned earlier, take a walk at SLS, check out the packages they offer...they do have wireless ADSL router ###### modem and pcmcia card bundle together.

    and if you really have the budget, you might wanna try Cisco Aironet...solid stuff (Suntec city n some of the Big hotels are using this) but hor price is super steep. :P

    btw, when u get the router, get those tat offer basic firewall features like NAT, port forwarding etc. (hmm..then again I think most of the new routers in market oredi came with such features..)

    Hi All, I am now using SNBB 512K. Thinking of setting up wireless BB access on my laptop(so that I can surf from my bedroom and do away with the wires etc). Currently I am using an Aztec Turbo 100 USB modem. Can any of u advise the hardware I need. Pls advise on the cost too. Thanks alot :thanks:

    2 Ways.

    1) Get rid of your USB modem, get a Wireless ADSL router (eg.Netgear ones are quite cheap. u might wana take a look at it)

    2) Use back your USB modem, configure a pc connecting to the USB modem to be Internet sharing (ie. act as a gateway) but this will slows down the pc, should u used that pc for surfing also. You will need to get a Wireless Access point.

    IMO, not worthwhile for option 2, might as well go for option 1. Go SLS jalan jalan, they have bundle offers on Wireless packages that comes with the router,pcmcia card etc.

    Try to look ard in some of the local forums, there r pple selling 2nd hand...

    Get the DVD version better..the Dolby Surround is shiok...the part where they juz landed on the beach...u can hear the bullets zooming ard in your 5.1 setup.

    Erm so which brand is good for storage..

    I am buying one soon.. but i need to get those external type .. connected using USB...

    May i ask if a DVD and CD storage space is it the same ?

    There r a couple of diff Dvdr formats, do some readup b4 u invest in one.(*.if u intend to burnt stuff from yr Dvd writer and to use it on other Dvd players.)

    is this the one shown in IT Show 2004? Look complicated and cool!

    Yup...The learning curve is quite steep but once you get the hang of it, its actually quite easy....the only thing that suxs about this game is that if you din eject and get your mech destroyed, you will have to start from mission one again..and if you were to power off your console thinking that it will not save your KIA (kill in action)record, the system will actually delete away your save file...so either way you still have to start from scratch.

    Finally got it after searching for quite a while....quite heavy, the plastic handle gave way while carrying it back home.

    Any guys keen to join in xbox LIVE in April? we can form a clan....heheheheheh

    Maybe can try Pick a Pet? I went to d one @ Holland V (Pet Lovers) seems to have a wide range of puppies and d puppies look healthy and well taken care off.

    Btw, y would u 1 2 look 4 puppies around 6 mths old? Tot better 2 get a younger puppy so that u will be able to train them easily? Just my personally opinion.

    ok..will try to dropby this weekend, went to pet safari and this pet shop along the shop houses near to parkway parade..not much selection though...
