    If my tank is 4x2x2; The height from SUMP to Main Tank is est 4ft. What Return pump should I used?

    Thinking of:

    1. TOM800 - 800G/hr - $50

    2. Eheim 1626 - 4000L/hr - $200

    3. SICCE 4000 - 4000/L/hr - $100

    Which do you think I should get or other recommendation?

    My return pump need to pump up almost 2 meter height.

    The output still very strong after head loss.

    I have considered various affordable pump and study the head loss graph.

    I still find Q1 the best.

    sorry hijack abit. How abt resun MD55? I am running it and still do not know wht's the flow rate like and energy consumed? sounds stupid but.... still need to ask around.....

    THought of changing to Quiet One, where can I source for it? anyone knows the place and px?

    That is 130W may be more for 3600 l/hour.

    It is a waste to run pressure rated pump for return.

    Quiet One available at many shops.

    Petmart, Ocean planet and many more.

    If you go for real Iwaki, they have pumps specialse for return.

    MD40RX => 85W for 4500L/hour.

    Just notice that my powder black in having white spots!!! :angry:

    Luckily its still feeding well... But the YT in the same tank somehow didnt get it.

    Maybe it got immune to it. :D

    Now wheres that garlic supp... :fear:

    Yellow tang can get white spot ?

    Never come accross before.

    YT is hardy species unlike Powder Brown or Black or Blue Tang.

    Last month I assemble all the hardwares and now i realiase I wanted to change to notebook.

    Spent about 780 for all the hardwares.

    I am selling at $650

    3. HDD = 120G Seagate 8M

    4. Ram = 512M DDR

    5. DVDRW 16X LG

    6. Pre-loaded windows 2000 and office XP

    I can throw in more things like

    Guys below is my personal feeling.

    No offend please....

    Daeil is so much cheaper than Artica for the Aquarium model.

    Why should we pay for Artica when they are indeed the same products ?

    I bought Daeil 1/3 HP for $1600 and for Artica, I was quoted $2200-2400.

    I cant remember the exact price quoted at that time but i was shocked on the difference. I was asking the shop why ?

    His reply = I dont know le, that is the price we get.

    The commercial unit 1/2 HP price diff only 200, so it is not so bad.

    1/2 HP Daeil = 1800

    1/2 HP Artica = 2000 I think it is about that price.

    BUT Why do i have to pay 600 diff for 1/3 daeil and 1/3 Artica.

    So what if artica give 1 more year warranty but with this 600 if anything goes wrong i prefer to use this 600 to buy new unit of new chiller.

    May be the Artica 1/3 price has drop now cause i saw some reefer posting on the forum about his lobang on cheap artica.

    FYI, Artica 1/3 HP in HK is selling SG$1400

    Now comparing 1600 Daeil and PAcific Coo 1/2 Chiller.

    How much diff are you paying ?

    I am not sure about pacific coo price but if it is 200-300 diff, I would prefer stick to Daeil.

    My first chiller = Teco 1/4 HP.

    I think I pay 1200-1400

    Second chiller = RR 1/2 HP

    I paid 1050

    3rd chiller 1/3 Daeil = 1600

    Imagine how much money was wasted.

    I wish I get to know about Daeil when I start this hobby.

    LEARN from my expensive experience.

    You can follow that footstep if you can afford or else stick to Daeil.

    Has anyone in Spore use this before ?

    I tought of getting one for my system.

    Defintely cheaper than IKS.

    Heard about its problems too because of the X10.

    But there are alot of happy customers in RC.

    I have checked with the local X10 dealer.

    Seems this X10 noise issue can be easily solved.

    Purpose:

    1. PH controller

    2. ORP controller

    3. Temperature monitor

    4. Controll MH and T5

    Anyone wanna try as well ?

    SPS in Thailand

    No shop in Thailand can display and sell sps and anemone openly. It is illegal.

    However, if you have connection, the LFS owner may invite you to the back of the shop or their house. But don't expect something great without paying an arm and a leg.

    Some of those LFS owners actually fly to Singapore and Hong Kong to buy and hand carry in the stock.

    If you don't want to buy from Singapore and hand carry yourself, and don't mind paying higher price to get in Thailand, pm me and I can give you the contact.

    X-10 Power Strips

    Hi all,

    I am planning to invest in digital system to monitor/controll

    PH, ORP, MH and temperature.

    I intend to get the Neptune Aquacontoller.

    This system communicate mainly using X-10 switches.

    I have also read that these X-10 might not work with MH because of the noise geneated by the Ballast.

    Anyone have experience this ?

    What is the estimated cost for this X-10 power strips.

    Just want to work out the cost involve.

    I tought the CITES permit are being provided by the exporter itself ?

    What I mean the exporter need to apply CITES in their country before they can export stony corals.

    Some exporter do not have this CITES thus they declare as other Live Stock when they export them out. But when customs found out, goods get stucks in the airport and all of them start to rot.

    Just my 2 cents ;)

    Zoomed in.........

    Micro bubbles contained within the first chamber.

    Black thick foam prevent bubbles from escaping.

    Another thin foam placed at the next chamber to make sure 0 bubbles escaped.

    This design work for me. ;)

    Results:

    Tank look cleaner and clearer
