  1. the aiptasia will sting the flesh of the clam and irritate the clam.. when irritated the clam do not open as much.... and cant absorb sunlight to make food..... and if they cant make food.. they will slowly die of hunger,..... IMO better remove the aiptasia.....

    Hi,

Can anyone advise, how to get rid of the apitasia? Thanks

  2. Haha.. can't compare in this way... Should depend on yourbudget. !!!:lol:

if not .. get a Sealife RO unit like the one > decentkid is using. not bad too. replacement cartridge for sealife.. if not wrong >> around $30+.

Esp if you are using rowa and active carbon in your fluidised reactors. a sealife ro unit is good enough. ;)

if you have > 500 -600 > no other place to spend... get a RO/DI unit.. but prepare to spend 30 - 100+ > to replace filter cartridges. range from 4 month to a year +. depend on your usage, and the water condition such as hard water condition.

    (just my view.) :P

    Hi

    Piglet,

If were to get solely a RO unit from Sealife will it help to eliminate the browish stain? Btw how does this RO works? Pls advise. Thanks

  4. nothing special about this AB top up system.

it helps to top-up evaporated water. It comes with a float switch, modified dosing pump etc. When the water level dropped below the setting. The dosing pump will operate and pump the water from the reservoir to your sump. benefit. can top up kalk from the top-up tank.. as dosing pump will not be >>''choked'' by kalk.

spec.. from AB wedsite.. 3 l/h, power consumption 4.5watts.

    Hi,

How much does the AB top up system cost? Thanks

  5. Last night, discovered my son's newly acquired yellow tang had ich and I was so worried for my other fish, esp... my moorish and tomini bristletooth. :o

Dosed the Kent Marine Marine C, Garlic Extreme and kept feeding my prepared food till this morning...all fish declared ich-free by 1pm just now...phew... :yeah::yeah::yeah:

IMO...Kent's Marine C is not bad plus the additives/ ingredients used for prepared food help to boost the immunity system in food...so dun 'stinch' on the types of food used to feed your fish.

I have never used medication to its optimum previously...maybe no luck...

    Hi Sis,

Can you advise on the frequency of your keep feeding means? will it cause high phosphate? Thanks.

  6. Hi,

Any Bro, have any idea whether is it possible to custom make a small sump of approx. L340mmxW200mmxH.350mm? If the answer is possible, then wat would be the return pump be used?. Thought of running together with a EHIEM cannister. Any small sump design to contribute?.Thanks ;)

  7. IME, ME salt is a little harder to dissolve than Tropic Marin. but hv to use quite a fair bit to achieve the salinity (1.023) that i want.

    Hi,

Can you advise on how to mix the Little Bottle content? Is it to dissolve all the salts together with the Little Bottle solution and fresh water? I thought the Little Bottle is suppose to pour in the salt pack and mixed it. Later, I think of it, it seem not logical, but to dissolve the whole pack of 50 gallon of salt with water and little bottle solution also don't seem logical too because I need to have a big container to store the water. What should it be, hope can give some advise. Thanks

  8. Strong lights. At least T5s. Keep temperatures from reaching above 29 degrees celcius. Choose healthy specimens...not gaping ones.. Place them at suitable spots (bright light, good water flow, away from other corals)...look out for pests like pyramid snails..Small clams will need phytoplankton feeding as supplement. Make sure fish or inverts don't disturb them. Keep water quality high.

    Hi,

How is pyramid snail looks like? Have any Pic to show? Thanks

  9. Yes, using ground probe will help, but it will not be permanently solve the problem if there is current leakage from any of the PH. Because the root cause is still exist.

If confirm there is leakage basically, ur ELCB should trip. Then it better that you remove and replace ur PH. But if it is electrostatic charge it will discharge as long as the ground probe is grounded.

  10. I do have this experience before when I just bought my SEIO pump after running for few days. But mine is on the left hand, and my right hand is OK. The fortunate thing is that I don't see lights on when tested with test pen. Same thing, I disconnect the pump by unplugging it out from power point, next I use a cloth place underneath my both feet and I power back the pump and do the test by left hand and this time I do not feel anything, after dipping for a few time. I don't feel anything even without the cloth underneath. But as for ur case is good that you test it with test pen because since it can light up ur test pen means quite high voltage ( Be Cautious and careful ).

  11. Tried that already... using my left hand to go into the water no problem but once my right hand touch the water my finger get shock... so i tried using a test pen.. indicated that there is current.. Is it harmful to the fishes and LS?

    Hi,

Bro, Why not try by disconnect the equipment one by one, make sure all equipment is totally unplug. after that test it with ur test pen, if the current still exist, then that could be electrostatic charge. Hope this may help.
