  1. it is not ban. please see below from cna:

Stricter AVA control as seahorses included in CITES from May 15

SINGAPORE : The Agri-food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) said the trading of seahorses in Singapore would be strictly governed next month.

From May 15, any import and export of seahorses will come under the Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

Seahorse s are largely in demand by seafood traders, aquarium dealers and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) dealers.

Last year, 47,700 live seahorses worth about $40,000 were imported for aquaria trade.

TCM practioners import some two tonnes of dried seahorses annually worth about $170,000.

They are used as an ingredient in products to cure ailments such as asthma, swelling and impotence.

The AVA hopes such measures will help conserve the species. - CNA

  2.  i thought or not shipping outside of USA?

    i also thought that.

the rule applies to live stock outside usa maybe. vibrance is not live stock. they suggested to me to take delivery through post, FedEx is too expensive for 12 and below. so, i need to pool sh keepers who are interested.

    hi SH keepers,

join the list if you are interested. only with enough orders to share freight cost then only it is economical to bring in. otherwise, i have to abondon the whole idea.

btw, i am not making money. final cost will be shared based on actual invoices.

  3. I discovered that Gillete Blades (crocodile brand for shaving) made of stainless would not rust eventhough it had contacted salt water some 2 months ago.

I used it to slice off silicon stains left on the glass when I repaired my leaing glass at the time. I did not wash with tap water and there is no sign of rust. Maybe it could be used as gounding probe B)

BTW, there is some Malay words printed on the packet "DISALUTI DENGAN PLATINUM' - I think it means with Platinum, anyone care to comment?

I used pen-knife blades before for my other job, it rust teribbly.

  4. yea I was afraid of that Initially too.. SO I use superglue and stick them together.. DUnno strong enough or not.. Maybe can use glue gun or silicone if you dun trust superglue.

you can buy the eggcrate from electrical wholesaler. each piece is 4' x 2', you just have to cut it to suit your requirement. Cost of each pcs will not cost you more than $15.

  5. i made a drip from a plastic containder and a small drip, sealed it with silicon and tried last nite....

the next day i saw that my silicon is not cured properly (not fully dried).

    - i also had the experience with silicon not drying between plastic-to-plastics. eventually, i abondoned my task. maybe silicon is not the right material to be used for plastics.

    - i used silicon to mend my glass tank and it dry within 5~10 mins. Overnight, and i found it totally cured, safe to use again without any casulty of livestock.
