  1. Can try this. It won't cost u an arm or leg. Ard the price of 1262. Wei
  2. I remember I call u 3 time before. Everytime u tell me u not free. How to come leh???
  3. this is something like co-made. so price is of course very special! Ask Alvy, but I dun think he want to go through the drill press process again!!! hahaha!
  4. Hi bwilly, bleached. I dunno. But the colour is very solid, not translucent. I doubt so. Wei
  5. 2 wk old Ric Florida from ML. Had grown at least 40%-60% eat. One polyp have 3 mouth & the other 2. Both in splitting mode.
  6. Hi, introducing Wei-Foamer! Limited edition! The last foamer from the alvyFoam production line! Its another 2 bro can be found at WaterCircle. The skimmer is abt 30" tall & can be converted to a 648 & above by adding part 3. Depending on how long the extention I want to add. No. 2 Injector housing is specially machined to fit the beckett head. No.4 is the MD-55 consuming 130W. A 630 can treat up to 2000L & a 648 can treat up to 4000L. Here u go....
  7. Hi, using an o-ring & a layer of silicon will seal both connector. Most impt is the hole is cut to right size & o-ring. Its true that pipes are pipes. It depend on one budget or wat kind of quality & standard they expecting. For me, since spending so much on the setup, might as well get a gd one. Overall, it makes the tank worth more value. Wei
  8. Hi, to use GF, its not cheap. Of course, that include all the valves, unions, etc. Not those impossible to maintain type of piping work. Terryansimon will know. Not cheap. Wei
  9. Well, MS for stand for marine is a no go. even if u paint it, once its chipped off, the rust will spread
  10. HI, yr tank from Amblin Design/Alantis???? Wei
  11. Hi Terrance, try to add some water so the water level in yr sump last compartment will reach ard 7". Then yr skimmer water level will be higher. Wei
  12. Hi, 30% changing water wkly can reduce a certain amt of NO3. However, from my experience, changing more than 25% of yr water from tank can affect the corals, etc. example, yr hammer or goni stop opening for a few days due to stress. I find that changing 10-20% is the most. By changing water weekly is still not the ultimate solution to reduce NO3. example NO3 increases by 30ppm per wk and u change 30% water weekly. Wk 01- NO3 =30ppm change water = 21ppm Wk 02- NO3=21+30 =51ppm change water = 35.7ppm Wk 03- NO3=35.7+30 =65.7ppm change water = 46ppm Wk 04- NO3=46+30 =76ppm change water = 53.2ppm and so on....what if something died?????? Are u going to do a 100% water change & the cycle to go on again in the near future??? Starving yr system by not feeding isn't going to do any gd to yr fishes, corals or inverts either. I find it to be the worst thing to do. I rather change more water. We want to keep healthy fishes, unless the theme for yr tank is "AFRICA". Malnutrition fishes swimming ard. The best way is still to have those bacteria to break them dwn. Let the bacteria established somewhere within yr system. It can be DSB, denitrator or chemically. Wei
  13. Hi, I have read from the RC. The owner of the feature tank with the ricordia & buttons, mention that he feed them with ESV spray dried plankton & cyclopeeze. Wei
  14. Hi Drewy, 150W will give out lesser heat but a MH is still a MH. The amt of heat it give off is still alot. The difference between a higher kelvin bulb is the colour. 10K give u a crisp white. 14K give u crisp white with a tint of blue. 20K is like actinic. Lower kelvin means higher PAR than higher kelvin. Lower kelvin means more red spectrum than higher kelvin with more blue spectrum. FIrst, just get a chiller to stablise yr tank temp. THen for lights, you can consider 250W 10K with FL/T5 actinic. Or 1 150W 20K & 1 150W 10K. U can basically keep any light demanding corals. Wei
  15. Hi Drewy, Even with the exhaust fan, you are going to have a hard time to achieve 26-27 degrees using 250 MH. Some problem you might face which is not gd for yr corals. 1)Temperature swing. 2)Salnity swing. These is one of the 2 important factor that will greatly affect the health of the corals in the long run. Especially if u are keeping SPS & LPS. Go with the SE bulbs as the UV will not be that high as compared to DE. Cheers! Wei

    Sulphur Denitrator

This is a very old design. U need to calculate the amt of sulphur to use. So far, the europeans had developed better design. U can just take a look at the schuran. Wei

    Sulphur Denitrator

It is not advisable to just dump the beads into sump. Once the water pass through the beads, the output will be abt pH 6-6.5. A slow flow is needed, but the best would be to get a redox meter to monitor to prevent stinking yr whole room by hydrogen sulphate. Putting calcium media is a gd option, however, the output will be still 7.9 . Overall, its a gd method but we still do not know how the sulphur will affect the LS & we need the test kit. Natural seawater has 2700ppm. Wei
  18. No one wait until 36hrs bro. Mine hatch within 20hrs. Take wat ever u can within 24hrs after it hatch. I find it easy to use, hatching rate also quite high. But still slightly lower than the traditional method. But just imagine the trouble u can avoid. Wei
  19. Too bad the repack version will have a shelf life since its not vaccum seal anymore. I ask the Argent guy before. They dun allow repacking of their product. If they know, probably the distributor will come in to stop the sales of repack cyclops. Wei
  20. Today, I saw some shop actually repack the cyclop-eeze to sell. Once open, there will be a shelf life. The cyclop-eeze will turn bad is just left on shelf(repack version). Cos its no longer vaccum sealed. Shops like reborn, WC sell them. Wei
  21. I have one. Infact, its my first tank. 5-6yrs liao. now lying ard. Read up & setup yrself. Dun engage them to setup, they know nuts!! I paid a few k for the 'school fee'!!! Its a difficult to maintain tank where detrius will stuck at the bottom, or anything dying below will produce a lot of NO3. Overall, a gd tank for beginner as u will experience all kinds of problems & spend most of yr time maintaining it. In the end, u will learn a lot faster. Wei
  22. THen u need to improve yr filtration. More absorder or upgrade skimmer.
