  1. do an iodine dip for 5 mins on ur elegance first before u look into these predators. Normally an iodine dip will do the job. these bugs will get off ur coral during the dip. if prob not eradicate then u add in these predators.
  2. haha...been experimenting with it. but came home today to find it sick with ich. think it's too stress with my experiments...hahaha..poor thing. Thread end here for the time being until i have revised the methods. Ain't easy in the first place. Kinda sad to see this fish so poor thing..hope it can get well soon.
  3. 6bucks then. nice sunnies.
  4. hahaha...sorry for that. it's red skirt. cannot blame me la. Cos that time i view only have actinic lighting on. So cannot really see the color at that time la. Pink zoas in the middle of ur tank. the one which is very pink and a big colony. PM me the price for red man-eater and that pink zoas. I hope u know which one i refering to or else next time i go view again when I am in the region.
  5. Hahaha...a really nice dealer la. got really good deal from him. :> This guy always sell things at a lost. Hey, this is the free sun which u give me and this is the condition here. They are very happy now. Hopefully u can keep ur mind at peace.I never targetfeed them, just use my own food. :> Ur peppermint also doing well. Hey bro, ur deals so good and it's really a pity. Why not continue the hobby ? hahaha...really wasted la. UPZ for ur sales. I will collect my pump asap. sorry for the long wait.
  6. Hahaha...went for delivery to his place today. Very nice Zoas keeper. All the Zoas are very nice. I like the pink zoas, yellow man-eater and ur blue pulsing xenia. Really is a beauty. Wanna get from u but I was rushing for time also. hahaha.. How much is the pink zoas, red man-eater and the hitchhiker zoas ? Pm me the price. I will consider then tell u again. But wun collect from u so early cos really busy these days. And ur black zoas with brown skirt is also very unique. Too bad I didn't get to see them all open fully during the trip. Never open fully already very nice, if open fully I think will be a great view. Upz for this nice zoas keeper. Too bad u dun have a camera to capture the beauty. But can see from ur passion. Rather not take pics then taking lousy pics which insult the beauty of ur Zoas. Spendid. Definitely worth the buy.
  7. Hmmmm..yup...dun know why but think it's kinda stupid. Why are they selling this fish in the market ? Hai.. should leave it alone in the sea. I hope I can find a solution to it. Researching into marine life is a hobby to me. Thanks for the offer, maybe when I visit u, we can share abit of knowledge. Pleased to meet u.
  8. with one head melting, u can take it out with care and caution then do an iodine dip. quarantee the coral. find out the source of the prob. it can be caused by infection, too strong in current flow or temperature prob. u have a chiller ? it's good to quarantee it before the prob get worse and when it spread to other heads and LPS. Cheers. good luck.
  9. for piping just go to hardware shop ba. Just like what Thex says, take a look at some other ppl's tank then decided ba. There is a lot of ppl who have diff tank concept and it's all up to u to choose at the end of the day. When I made my delivery rounds, I have seen many tanks around. Some depends more on biological, while depends on a big skimmer. It's all up to ur choice. just made sure u know the pros and cons of each tank design. How to know ? Just take a look at the condition of their tank. Biological is the one that will made down most easily and the most vulnerable. A sudden buildup in harmful chemical can crash the tank which depends merely on biological system. Pro is cheaper and Con is manual work and continuous monitor. Chemical and mechnical filter both work together normally. It's more stable as chemical react according to the output of ur tank. Chemical filter means a lot of filter mediums to remove the chemical in ur tank. Pro is stablem and Con is expensive becos u need to renew ur filter medium every once in a while. :> FR is normally used to enhanced the function of chemical filter in this case. Protein Skimming is a topic for debate. As most ppl uses protein skimming but some can survive without. If u dont' depends on protein skimming, then u need to really study and put in effort into chemical or biological filter here. Mostly who choose so will most likely use biological filter. I saw one of the tank which uses maggrove plants and mud instead of protein skimmer. At the same time, the birth of marine hobby starts without it. And the further development is made possible with the invention of protein skimmer. So it's still up to u. But this section is not for amatuer hobbyist as it's more complicated. Have a nice day. For a start, I recommend u to get a good skimmer and depend more on biological and chemical filter with mechnical first. When u get more into the hobby, u can slowly add on more weight on biological filter and shift away from the dependent of chemical filter system. The design of a sump is up to individuals. some hav e a refugium in their sump while some dun. alot of choices on that.
  10. hahaha...angels love sponge and that's part of their natural diet. The so-called feeding here is to be able to let ur fish feed for a long period of time with stable food supply. If ur angel get sponge to feed on during it's captive life, then u can say that it's feeding. Normally ppl considered it to be feeding as in when it's feeding on pellets or frozen foods. Hopefully this will help. I dun considered that as feeding personally cos sponge is expensive food source and they can run out, then u will need to search and buy more. When u are going to sell it away, u can't tell other ppl that it's feeding on sponge and expect them to do the same. hahaha..just my 2cents worth here. Hopefully no offense.
  11. YUP. clownfish will guard their territory. Dun recommend getting another maroon or clownfish. Maroon is always a bad choice if u intend to have a few clowns. I hope piero dun mind that the topic is a bit off..hahahaha... And also good luck to you guys with the new addition. I am looking to add in one PBT soon. hope to find one small or medium one. hahaha. Dun like big fishes. going shopping tomolo.
  12. hahaha..u're welcome. I do see some ppl using bioballs. It's to speed things up la. Up to u ba.hahaha.. Okay. Bio-rings. also known as ceramic rings or ceramic noodles. It has the same function as bioballs. But it does trap in so much nitrate as compare to bio-balls. so it's a better choice. I myself uses a special bio-home. it's like tube-like structure. I don't know if anyone else uses that. Or u can try Seachem's Matrix. There are other great products out there which has the biological effect. If u plan to use bio-rings, try to get those which is suitable for saltwater. Those which are really porous. Coral chips may act as biological filter as bacteria and grow there too. But will trap nitrate too. It also act as a source of carbonate and calcium so for a new tank, it can help to create a stable pH in the water. At the same time, it act as as mechnical filter too as some choose to use coral chips for their substrate. It's most likely used as a mechnical filter so u must wash them frequently. It's not a very good biological filter as it's not porous enough when compared to other filter medium. A good biological filter medium allows both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria to thrive. And anaerobic bacteria can convert nitrate to nitrogen gas. Hope that these can help u in setting up. U can try bio-rings for biological filter. I know this very good german brand ceramic noodles and it cost around $65 for one box. hahaa. There are alot of ways for biological filter. Some uses deep sand bed, some uses live rocks, some uses this and that. each way works and each has their own pro and cons.
  13. Hahaha...on 24/7. Nobody off their skimmer one. IT's the lifeline of a marine tank man. It shall be removing proteins 24/7. yeah. cannot off it. your fishes also wil shit at night one. just leave it alone and use ur timer on something else.
  14. hahaha...no prob. maroon clownfish ar ? The size of it ? And wat nemo u adding in ? Normally two diff. nemo will find it hard to live together unless u have a big tank which allow each to have their own territory. But judging from ur 6-line situation, I doubt that as a possibility. Hhaha.. If there is anemone in ur tank, it will be even worse. Ur new nemo will most likely died. If u intro a new nemo which is bigger, it will chase ur maroon away. And if u intro a small nemo, it will be chased. I gave away my maroon to the LFS in exchange for a damsel in the end. And Maroon clown is the most aggressive clown around. Hope that this can help.
  15. Hahahaa...can I buy it from u ? I am conducting some experiments. Wait...not gonna be cruel to it. But just wanna train it to eat. When it's feeding then I sell it back to u at the same price. Do considered it. and pm me. thanks.
  16. Hahaha...corrections to bioball. The usage of bioball is to build up aerobic bacterias and they are really effective. That explains why there is Nitrate build-up. From ammonia to nitrite to nitrate and these nitrates are left-overs from the process. If u tank dun have enough live rocks, u can put bioballs in the sump for tank cycle. When the cycle is completed, u can then take out the bioballs. If not enough live rocks, u will need bioballs for the cycle. So after u used it, u can pass it on to someone who is new and setting up tank. Cheers. There are other medium which u can try to build-up bacterias in ur tank but bio-balls are one of the fastest method around. If u are afraid of the adverse effects caused by it, simply use liverocks instead and of cos, it more expensive.
  17. Haahaha.. Besides the sea slug which is hard to get, wrasse is a good choice. choose one which is not that aggressive in ur tank or else u will find it hard to intro new fishes in the future. 6-line is too aggressive towards new stock. But u can find one in almost all reef tank. hahaha.. Have a nice day.
  18. HAHAHA...i try my best to see if i can help u as i only got a good cameraphone. Cheers.
  19. ahahah..this guy disappear into the thin air. pm him way back but until now no response. *knock knock. Anyone there ? Can i collect on sat ? Hello ?
  20. hahaha...bro. think u better put some pic. Even if it's not clear or wat, at least ppl can see the size and color. even if coloration is bad, at least ppl see also happy. hahaa... will be much better for ur sales. good luck in ur sales. Upz for u.
  21. HAhaha... No need la..school last time very rich. crazy one. they ask the parents to donate money for air-con. hahaha. FAINT. dun need to have 30 units la..I think they are looking into those commercial big units around the markets.
  22. Hey bro, six-line wrasse will pose a prob to ur addition of small fishes man. Anthias is a good choice for reef tank and they are safe and good looking. But the prob is that the six-line wrasse may haunt them until they died man... Either u play with ur new small additional lives and hope they will survive, or u can try to catch the six-line wrasse and sell it away. There are many other beautiful wrasses around the place and some are more peaceful. Or else u can add the six-line as the last addition to ur tank. adding in new fishes and hope they can survive is cruelty and is irresponsible. I dun recommend this. and many ppl do it out of laziness. There are also a lot of gobies which are very nice. u can try to add a shrimp goby. If u can get a pistol shrimp, they are fascinating to watch. Cardinal is also very nice addition as they will swim in a group. If u dun have inverts, u can consider trevaily, small grouper or hawkfish. And it depends on ur tank. Trevaily is really beautiful in a school when they are small. The only problem is when they are big as they can grow to a very big size like those u see in underwater world. hawkfish is also an interesting addition. Many reefers like to keep one in their tank too. a small grouper is also nice but the same problem is that they grow very big and also they are very fierce and may caused a prob to future additions. my 2cents worth here and good luck in ur additions. Cheers. hope to see u sharing abt ur new addition here soon. till then, have a nice fishy day.
  23. Last time in my school they wanted to buy portable air-con for the hall. But think it's diff. to maintain ba.
