  1. going fishless for 8 weeks will eradicate the parasites in the tank. A good time to start some corals keeping. At least thats how one of my good reefer fren got addicted to sps.

+ 1. Good time to stock up some corals.

Anyway your problem won't be resolved until you know more about ich and how to tackle it. Best to QT your fishes with copper before your introduce to your tank. Else you will have the same problem again.

  2. Bro, 2 clowns died don't mean tank crashed. If your intention are only 2 clowns, I won't even do recycling as long as the clown is healthy. Fyi, a QT tank doesn't need to go thru the process of recycling and it called a QT tank. Yet the fish still survive in it.

There are many reasons for your clown fish death and best to read and ask around. How to introduce LS is very important too.

  3. I guess its tested and proven haha. One good thing I notice is no algae on rocks. Hmmm maybe its the copper?

I do have algae. probably lighting, feeding and my NO3 was quite high during my conversion period. Took about more than 6 months than coraline algae overlapped the green algae.

  4. I convert from 5ft fowlr(coppered) to reef tank using the same rocks. Never had a Sps died on me (finger crossed). Also barely have algae issue at all. But I changed 250l of saltwater every week for months and use polyfilter to clear the copper before going to reef. Maybe I'm lucky for my case. You decide for yourself :)

I don't think this is luck. By doing the proper step before conversion. It is prossible to have a nice reef tank. I also didn't change my media and rock yet able to convert without no issue.

Just want to share to ease the misconcept of copper usage in marine tank.
