hermit crab and cleaner wrasse

Hi, it is definitely not the Hermit as they only feed on deritus and algae.

IMO, I think it is due to the wrasse itself. Cleaner wrasse is well known for not being able to survive in captivity. In fact, most literature calls for the banned or boycott of them. This is because when they are being remove from nature, it cause and exodus and thus the eco-system that it was removed will collapse.

If you need a cleaner you may get a cleaner shrimp or a neon goby, they are better choice.

Hope this helps.

cleaners don't last long with their specific eating habits and becareful of your hermits as well.

Quite true also. Unless it is the hawaiian red legged hermit which is considered reef safe by lots of hobbyist.

Personally I have a unidentified hermit which never bothers the livestock unless they are dead.

But it is better to save than sorry. ;)

Oh you have the scarlet hermit.... :yeah: Can't find that but the other time SL brought the blue legged ones from Hawaii which cost $10.00 a piece.

No lah, mine is the unidentified $1 ones from Pasir Ris.

Saw the scarlet at Bio Ocean but did not buy cuz too big for comfort. B)
