adding of beneficial bacterial

i jsut added beneficial in to my 2months tank, and notice that the skimmer produce a lot of wet skimmate after that. is the beneficial bacterial being skim out?

should i off the skimmer for bacterial to settle?

i m using ocean free super battle bacterial and red sea prizm skimmer.

pls advise :peace:

why dun u off the skimmer for an hour or so after u add the bacteria to see see ??

2x1.5x1.5 tank

Lighting: AI hydra 52HD

Skimmer: Deltec SC 1455

Reactor: Minimax; rowaphos

Skimz  ; NP biopellets

Wave Maker: MP 40 WQD

Return pump: Eheim 1262

Chiller: Arctica 1/10 hp

The reason ppl use liquid BB is to kick start a new colony of them in the filter/sump. During this stage the ANN cycle is observed with a certain bioload (market prawn, etc). And also during this stage no livestock shld be introduced(I include liverock too.) . Therefore there is no need to turn on skimmer at all.

My theory is probably there is alot of the BB dying off from dosing becoz not enuff ammonia to consume, therefore lotsa skimmate produced.

Anyway why add BB to a 2months old tank? If u intend to increase your livestock but afraid your biofilter will crash, then add one at a time, giving your beneficial bacteria time to adjust. Small ANN cycle will occur but will not crash your bio-filter.
