shrimp inside maxima

found that 3 of my maximas having those transparent shrimps living inside my maximas. just wondering whether is it good or need to be removed? thks

I doubt its parasitic. Well evolved organisms try to maximise the use of their host without killing it in the end. The shrimp most likely would be using the clam for shelter. Should'nt harm the clam much. The shrimp might actually keep debri off the mantles, defend it against pyramid snails,etc. Housekeeping in exchange for shelter.

bro fuel, thks for the advise. one more thing, only the maximas seem to have the shrimp. having croceas but never really noticed it.

I have seen them in my Squamosa too. They dun seem to harm it and instead can help to remove any debri trapped inside. These are symbiotic shrimps so theres no harm.

You only need to panic when you see chunks of clam flesh missing every day. hahaha

The shrimp should be ok with clams... most big clam have them....
