how much lr required for this tank setup

Hi Brothers and sisters,

I am setting up one 90 cm(length)* 90 cm(height) * 65 cm(width) tank.

i will be setting the rocks up to the height of 60cm. so roughly how many kg of LR is need??

I am just an average FR (fish reefing) writer. If you like my FRs, please upz my points.

well, it's the first time i come across a tank with such dimensions. ;)

anyway, how much LRs u need depends on what kind of system u r going for too, jaulbert or berlin? rockscaping? finiancial constraint? but IMHO, at least 50kg to start with for a tank of ur size if u ask me.

Whoa tall tall tank. I like but I think you may have difficutlty doing maintanence and also arrangments of corals and LR. Back would ache like hell. :evil: I have a 2.5ft already bad enough. Anyways good luck on your tank! ;)

Btw the LR you wanna choose, get those very porous ones.Porous with small holes and relatively light would be good. Also make sure that the LR has living organisms and also coralline algae. :peace:

okay...but i like those big huge rocks....

some of the pasir ris sell those very small ones...

where to get good big to medium size lr..

Bro, there are huge rocks for sale in the masar malam forum... by a fellow reefer... anyway, the more rocks u have the better as there are more space for bacterial to grow, but it also depends on the rockscape you wan... :)

how to keep lr "alive"? i mean their bateria alive? place them inside a tank full of sea water and air circulation or more than this?
