What small fishes are suitable for a small tank?

Hi guys,

I just started in this hobby. Am currently keeping a 1.5 X 0.9 X 0.9 FOWLR. Skimmer is macro asp100. lights PL DIY. Filter eheim 2213. Yup dats abt it.

My question is what fishes are suitable for nano tanks?

Due to the space constraint and more so for mine cos I really stuff my tank with live rocks heh wanna boost my bio filtration. I currently have a big fat 2.5 inch tomato clown and a 2 inch blue damsel. Read in compatibility charts they r compatible with each other but apparently not so lor...the damsel's fins torn and nipped by the clown... So thinking of changing my live stock to smaller fishes with smaller mouths and smaller personalities haha Can the big bros or anyone pls kindly advise me on this? thanks so much guys

For me I would keep firefish, very small common clown & clown goby.

they doesn't grow too big for small tank.

Okie thanks for the suggestion : thanks : But heard clowns in sg not v easy to keep and high mortality cos most are cyanide caught, is it true? oops off topic heh nvm plus i dun have anemone for them...

Clowns don't need anemones to survive. They merely form a symbiotic relationship with them.

Besides fishes, have you considered shrimps? Shrimps like cleaner shrimps, blood shrimps would also do fine in your setup.

u need to try some places to get hardy clowns..

places like MarineLife, Irwana, Coral Farm, Aquamarine & SeaLife are some of the places which had quality livestocks. Expect to pay a little bit more for them though.

try dartfish like the fire and purple. very peaceful and they paired up together all the time, very interesting. Get a pair of blue green chromis too, they will reward you with their spectacular colors when you take good care of them.

butterflies would be too big for your tank.
