Noise from durso pipes

Hey guys,

Do you people experience irriating loud suction noises when your durso pipes take in water from your overflow box?

Mine is very noisy.

What does the hole drilled on the side of the top cap of the durso pipe do?

I notice that some water is constantly flowing into that hole.

Could that be the reason of the noise?

water shouldn't be flowing into the end cap. it can only reach to half the level to the elbow. there is only a hole at the face of the end cap, not side. that hole is to control the flow. attached a air line pipe with valve and play around . every tank is different.
