Wrasse & Grouper

Hi reefers,

Please help me ID these 2 fishes which I bought from one reefer ...

(I mean FULL NAMES and characteristics)

Pics are as below:

This wrasse belongs to Halichoeres, you can do a search to get the full scientific name.

The wrasse is a Klunzinger's wrasse (Thalassoma klunzingeri). I bgt it b4 at Reborn few yrs ago. Very active fish...Attacks & eats many typesof inverts. Loves crustaceans...Even cleaner shrimps oso whacked so wud only recommend for fowlr ...

Main Tank : 48 inch by 36 inch by 28 inch (2 sides starphire glass)

Not anymore given away already... Too aggressive for my liking. Saw some at Reborn last week if i m not wrong. Not sure how much but last time i paid abt 20 or 25 bucks for it (if i remember correctly lah).... It has same behaviour as the moon wrasse (lunare). Very fierce fish.... My moon wrasse grew too big n in the end i release it bck to sea cos thats where i caught it as well....

:off: how big's ur tank? grouper tends to grow to a size unsuitable for aquiriams.

2 feet x 1.5 feet x 1.5 feet only.

Anyway, will be catching that fella out soon.

dunno if anyone would read this .. but the wrasse u guys mention can be caught in local waters.. i went netting with my GF's dad at changi beach ... we caught like 10 of these wrasses .... gave them to my GF's uncle.. lol..

well yes i think u r referring to the moon wrasse... pretty common in local waters... i used to catch them at sentosa n labrador (b4 it becamea nature reserve lah). i think the moon wrasse lookalikes- Klunzinger n wardleys r not so common. all'll do well in fish only tank n can grow very big n fat
