Hi Reefers,

I am currently using a RIO32HF as my return pump in-sump. Wonder can this pump be used out-sump?

To be exact, I am thinking of raising the pump above water level in the sump. Meaning it is still in the sump tank but the pump is above the water instead of inside.

Hope that doing so my chiller can have less work.

Anyone here uses a Rio32HF out sump before? safety? heat? ...

Please enlighten me.. :lol::thanks:

CHEERS!

as long as it comes with an adaptor for the intake then it can be run ext.

They are powerful pump but noisy too. You will also need a check valve otherwise you got to prime it after every off line session.

thanks for your input. appreciated.

noisy, waste electricity..

if anyone looking for it..im willing to sell mine

you are using a Rio14HF as your return pump on your 3 footer right?...

no comment on the electricity wastage part for the price of a RIO... as for the noise my Rio32HF has some noise level.. but my Rio20HF for my skimmer is very quiet in sump.
