i am directing my qns to the thread-starter whether the pest anemones he's referring to r indeed aiptasias.

anyway, u can get rid of them thru a few means.

inject kalk paste onto the aiptasias.

get peppermint shrimps.

etc....

Bro Lightningstike is always prudent and resposible with his advises.

He will always ensure that the advises he dishes out are correct to the T and not misunderstood.

Thus, he was only double checking with the initiator of the post that what he/she spotted is really aiptasia rather than assuming.

kalk paste are very effective, but they take forever if you have bunches of them. I tried that for the previous tank, the moment you feed on one and the paste stray off a little, the neighbours will know and close up and hide away. it will takes several days a least. Also, you can't be shooting endlessly without worrying about the PH rising.

Some have use epoxy to seal thier hide-out. Easier I suppose, but no feedback were made as to thier returns. Squeezed lemon juice can work too

If you can target the specific rocks they are at, you can boil them or replace with new rocks, but that's the last resort of cos.

didn't have the chance to get my hands on peppermint, and I won't risk my LPS for a copperband.

threadstarter,

do up a pic search in the net, they are quite easy to identify anyway.

According to some ppl who have used it, Joe's Juice is perfect for fighting Aiptasia. The aiptasias do not retract when the juice is used and will disintegrate within minutes of consuming the product. No adverse effect on tank water parameters too. hth :)
