Black-capped Basslet

Hi, anyone kept Black-capped Basslet before?

Thinking of adding this basslet to a 2 ft reef tank, which already has a Royal Gramma.

Do you think the Royal Gramma will attack it?

Please share experiences.

Thanks very much.

Yes I had both, but your tank is too small for both. They will fight.

If you really want to try out, although introducing both together may work but not guaranteed. I suggest you get smaller specimens (they grow fast), introduce one first follwed by another later, when introducing a second one, place it inside a bottle inside the tank (better if the fish can is allowed to stabilise in a seaprate tank or a sump compartment firt) so that the other can view but cannot attack and observe it for 2 days or so before you release it.

I have tried this method for my basslet and perculas and it worked. Have plenty of rocks for the basslet to take cover as they like to hide in the rocks when introduced initially.
