Euxiphipops navarchus (Cuvier 1831), the Navarchus, Majestic or Blue-Girdled Angelfish. Three of the most beautifully striking of the marine angelfishes are classified as the members of this genus. A beautifully colored fish, the map Angel is another popular angel with Aquarists, due to its adaptability, and hardiness. The Map Angel is a highly curious fish, and will interact with the Aquarist when the Aquarium is approached. |
Maximum Size: the Euxiphipops navarchus grows up to 12 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The Majestic prefers a tank of at least 80 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Euxiphipops navarchus is a omnivore and likes to eat Omnivore, primarily feeds on sessile Invertebrates, Algae, Sponges, and Coral Polyps. Should be offered a captive diet high in protein, with Sponge material i.e. Ocean Nutrition Angel Formula. . Level of Care: The Majestic is a medium maintenance fish. Behavior: The Majestic may act semi-aggressively toward other fish. Hardiness: This is not a hardy fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F).
