Centropyge argi, Woods & Kanazawa 1951, the Cherub or Atlantic (Caribbean) Pygmy Angel. Able to get along with other Pygmy Angels in a tank of at least 75 Gallons or more, due to territoriality. Shy at times, the Cherub is a very cute addition to community, and Reef Tanks alike. The Cherub has been bred in captivity, and is still one of the more popular species with Aquarists. |
Maximum Size: the Centropyge argi grows up to 3 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The Pygmy Cherub Angel prefers a tank of at least 40 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Centropyge argi is a omnivore and likes to eat marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, and other meaty treats. Level of Care: The Pygmy Cherub Angel is a medium maintenance fish. Behavior: The Pygmy Cherub Angel may act semi-aggressively toward other fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F). Range: Caribbean, Western Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Carribean. Breeding: Able to breed. |
