| Doesn’t eat prepared foods well in captivity, but will eat corals. Exallias brevis (Kner 1868), Leopard Blenny. Obligate feeders on live coral polyps. The Leopard Blenny, is definately a popular species with Aquarist that keep fish only community tanks, as they cannot be kept in reef type tanks, as they feed on polyps of Acropora, Porites, Pocillopora, Seriatopora, and Millepora species. |
| Maximum Size: the Exallias brevis grows up to 6 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The Leopard Blenny prefers a tank of at least 60 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Exallias brevis is a omnivore and likes to eat veggies, herbivore preps. Level of Care: The Leopard Blenny is a high maintenance fish. Behavior: The Leopard Blenny may act semi-aggressively toward other fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F). Range: Fiji, Indo-Pacific, Red Sea to the Hawaiian, Marquesas, and Society islands, and Micronesia. |
