Chrysiptera cyanea
Chrysiptera cyanea (Quoy & Gaimard 1825), the Blue Devil/Damsel. Likely the most commonly used member of the Damsel family by the aquarium interest. Variably blue with some orange yellow on fins. These fish are aggressive and territorial and can harass fish many times it’s size. It is not suitable for a peaceful community tank.
Maximum Size: the Chrysiptera cyanea grows up to 3 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Blue Devil Damsel prefers a tank of at least 30 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Chrysiptera cyanea is a omnivore and likes to eat variety of foods (meats & veggies).
Level of Care: The Blue Devil Damsel is a low maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Blue Devil Damsel may act aggressively toward other fish.
Hardiness: This is a hardy fish.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F).
Range: Indo-Pacific.
