Oxycirrhites typus

Better in pairs. Likes to hide in a red gorgonian. The Long-Nose Hawkfish, Oxycirrhites typus, Bleeker 1857. The Hawkfish most hobbyists have seen and want. This superlatively suitable aquarium species reaches approximately five inches in total length.

Maximum Size: the Oxycirrhites typus grows up to 5 inches.

Minimum Tank Size: The Longnose Hawkfish prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.

Diet: The Oxycirrhites typus is a carnivore and likes to eat meaty treats (like feeder shrimp).
